Hey Lovelies!!!

How is everyone doing?  I feel like I have been doing some serious blog slacking lately.  I guess I'm in a bit of a rut.  I know some of you can empathize.  I'm going to keep it short and sweet!

Hey Dolls,

I am off to a pretty good start at school!  I absolutely LOVE my heels but one of my goals this year is to incorporate more flats into my wardrobe.  I have always found it challenging to find cute flats.  I found these super cute oxfords from Zara the summer before last and they inspired my look for the day.
DSCN9122
These shoes remind me of Pee-Wee Herman but I love them!!!!
Plus they are soooo comfy too!

My outfit was nothing special but I did realize that these slacks are made to be worn with heels if you're my height or shorter LOL!

Blouse:  Nordstrom Rack
Wide Leg Trousers:  Dillards
Oxfords:  Zara

Time is seriously waiting on no one!  I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that summer's over and Christmas is around the corner!  Well that's all for today!  Be back soon!

Hi Dolls,

I was so happy when my good friend Krystle came to town for a few days this week!  We decided to meet up with for lunch and I thought going to this urban-chic Thai restaurant downtown would be perfect for lunch!  It's called Indochine.
I absolutely loved the ambiance of this place.  It's just the swankiest little Thai restaurant you'll ever want to eat in.  I love the entrance to the restaurant, the exposed brick inside of the restaurant, and all of the Buddhist inspired art showcased through out the space.
The food was pretty good!  For starters we got the following:
Crab Rangoons:  I ordered these and while the curried cream cheese added great flavor , I didn't taste a bit of crab.  I even opened one of them up on a mad search for crab and was  disappointed when I found none.
Crispy Rolls:  These were rolls stuffed with ground pork, mushrooms, mung bean noodles, onion, cabbage, and carrots, fried to a perfect crisp, and were the BOMB DIGGITY!!!
Steamed Dumpling:  I didn't taste these but Krystle's BF said they were pretty good.
For my main dish, I had the Shrimp and Chicken Pad Thai.  It was my first time trying Pad Thai and though I'm not the biggest fan of peanut, the peanut undertones were subtle and it had a tolerable amount of spice, making for a pretty tasty dish!  I love how you can determine the level of spice you want using a scale from 1F-6F with 6 being the hottest!  I ordered this dish at a 3F and it had the right amount of "kick" for me.
This was the Mee Krob which came with bok choy, chicken, veggies, served over fried crispy rice noodles. the broth in this dish was amazing!
This beef fried rice was good but there was nothing extraordinary about it,
Overall, my experience at Indochine was good!  Although I had the hiccup with my rangoons appetizers, everything else made up for it.  The space was inviting, the service was good, and the food was tasty!  I would definitely go back the next time I'm downtown and want a good bite to eat!

Talk to you all soon!
XOXO

Hey Dolls,

How was your weekend?  Great I hope!  Mine was pretty FAB!  It was tax-free weekend on clothes and school supplies and ya girl got a few things, including this skirt I'm wearing!!!
DSCN9052
I was truly blessed at church this morning as I always am.  The sermon was very fitting per usual and focused on commitment to God.  Here is a question:  How important is God to you?
DSCN9053

Most of us Christians say that He is our everything but in all sincerity, the majority could probably agree that we tend to put Him on the back burner until we really need Him.  Think about it...we're sure to be on time and sometimes early for work, the gym, a gathering but will drag into church or bible study late, completely skip Sunday school and make excuse as to why we can't attend a church function.  We read our favorite magazines and novels but won't read a few scriptures out of the Bible.
DSCN9054

I'm personally going to try to do better at being more committed to what's most important, my relationship with God.   He doesn't ask for much.  He wants our love and attention.  I mean nobody wants to feel used right?

I pray you all have a wonderful week!

Hey Lovelies,

So...did you know that the Bible has a theme park????  Yep! Sure does! In sunny Orlando, FL of course, right off of I-4.  It's called the
Holy Land Experience.
Now as many times as I've been to Orlando and took the very same exit to this park to go to The Mall at Millenia and IKEA, you would think that my curiosity as to the what the beautiful golden building to the right is, would've gotten the best of me.  Well, my aunt and uncle came to Orlando to tour the Disney parks with their grandchildren and I decided to drive up and spend a day with them.  We went to the Holy Land Experience.
Meintheentrance

I had heard mixed reviews about the park prior to going but I am glad that I was able to experience it for myself.  Though some of the decorations could have been nicer, I was truly blessed by the live shows.  The first show was called "The Legna" which is angel spelled backwards.  It was a great story focusing on the scripture about how we should be careful about how we entertain stranger because they may be angels.  I was especially moved by "The Passion/We Shall Behold Him", a 70 min. theatrical production depicting the "agony, death, resurrection, and glorious return" of Jesus.  I wish I had more pictures to show but, I took pics on my phone that day and for some strange reason the USB cord for my phone isn't working...hmmm.....interesting (sounds like someone is busy again #advesary) so what I want you to do is please click on this link to take you to their official website where you can get a better idea of what this place was all about.

This dress I'm wearing is from my favorite maxi dress store, Ross!

Inspirational Daily Challenges:
At the beginning of July, the lovely Missez B of Random Bites of a Sweet Life started an inspirational Daily Challenge for the remainder of the year. She wrote down 184 positive things you can do for yourself and/or for others.  Each day she randomly chooses one of the challenges.  I decided to play along.  I was late getting on board so I will do 10 that I completed from July and try my very best to keep you all up to date on the challenges at the end of each week from here on out.  She would love for anyone else interested to join the challenge.  Ok, here goes:

July:
(In no particular order...)

1.) Challenge # 9:  Pray for someone: Easy, done.
2.) Challenge #4:  Write a poem about someone and give it to them:
I texted my sweetie a quick poem that I made up lol!  I'm not gonna let you read all the gushy stuff.
He liked it!  "OGAC" is a humorous acronym for something we call each other.  It's very endearing. Love that man of mine!
3.) Challenge # 22:  Hug Someone: Last Friday I drove down to visit one of besties and we hugged once I got to her house!  I LOVE hugs!
4.) Challenge # 24:  Go to bed early tonight:  Last Wednesday I was so pooped I laid across my bed around 9:45ish and fell asleep.  I was awaken around 4:30am by all of the lights in my room that were still on, room light, TV, nightstand.  I turned off all the lights and fell right back to sleep.
5.) Challenge #7:  Take a Picture of Someone: This was in a mall and I was so amused I had to sneak and snap this picture! LOL!

6.) Challenge # 8:  Do 20 Sit-Ups:  I have been doing a Boot Camp workout for the last few weeks and our instructor makes us do a ridiculous amount of sit-ups and ab exercises.  Planks are concentrated evil!
7.) Challenge # 10:  Drink at least 3 cups of water:  I've been drinking at least a liter and a half of water daily since I started bootcamp.
8.) Challenge # 15:  Look for an old picture of yourself that's at least 10 yrs. old: Me and one of my good friends from high school at the prom.
9.) Challenge #20:  Cloud gaze for a few minutes: On my way home from visiting my friend, I did a lot of cloud gazing.  I remember trying to find images in the clouds as a kid and I had the opportunity to do the same thing this time.  I saw a cloud that resembled Santa Claus.
10.) Challenge #31:  Wave to a stranger: The other day I was walking up towards a restaurant to grab some lunch and a lady and I met eyes, I smiled at her and she waved to me.  That counts  huh? :)

That was fun!  If you want in on these cool challenges, visit Missez B's blog and join in!  I'll be back at the end of the week with my challenges for the first few days in August.

Talk to you all soon!
