No Tricks, Just Treats!

Happy Halloween Dolls!

In an effort to participate in the days festivities, I added a little orange to my attire this morning for work.  But seriously, eat your heart out looking at these booties!!!
I jumped on the ShoeDazzle bandwagon and am so hooked!  These booties were my first purchase and I absolutely LOVE them!!!  The heel is high but they are uber comfy!  I was able to walk around in them all day with no issues.  I think the platform helped a lot in that department.
With the holidays quickly approaching, I am back to "Shopping My Closet"  again!  It's actually really fun re-creating looks with items previously worn in different ways.  This light orange, sherbet, collarless blazer was seen here first and this amazing black jumper was seen here first.  (Can you tell I adore this jumper?)
I receive a lot of compliments today on this blazer!  One of the things I loved about it when I first saw it in the store is the two-toned orange. Here is what it looks like in the back.  I really like how the collar from the jumper gave the blazer a new look!

If anyone is interested, my hair is in a protective up-do, styled by yours truly!  It may look complicated by it was so easy.  All you need are a few bobby-pins!
So I've been working on this post for about an hour and a half now, the cutest lil' trick -or- treaters have been blowing my doorbell up!  Lights off, I'm all out of candy.

I'll be back soon dolls, have a great evening!

Sunday's Best

Hey Dolls,

I know I have been M.I.A. for the last few weeks but life happened and I needed to take a little break.  Nevertheless, I'm back, hopefully for much longer.  What better way to come than with a Sunday Best post!
Do you ever really listen and take in the words to the songs you sing in church?  This particular song is not only beautiful, but extremely meaningful as to how we, as Christians, should live our lives for God.  It's called "I Give Myself Away"  Here are the lyrics.

"Here I am
Here I stand
Lord, my life is in your hands
Lord, I'm longing to see
Your desires revealed in me
I give my self away."

"Take my heart
Take my life
As a living sacrifice
All my dreams all my plans
Lord I place them in your hands"

Dress:  Ross  Belt: SteinMart  Heels:  Rock & Republic via Kohls

"I give myself away
I give myself away
so You can use me"

The lyrics are as beautiful as the song.  Listen for yourself.

I pray it blesses you.
Have a wonderful week!

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I will miss my lil diva doggie so much!  She was the sweetest, most lovable little chihuahua you'd ever want to know.  It's hard losing a pet that you love and adore so much but I know she's in a better place now.

I love you Krodie.

Chambray and Leopard

Hey Dolls,

The weekend is finally here!!!  This has been one heck of a week, let me tell ya.  I am praying I get my car back this afternoon.  It's a challenge getting around and taking care of business without your own transportation.  Anywho, here is a work OOTD from earlier this week that I hadn't gotten the chance to post.

Hence the title of my blog, like most girls, I love shoes, especially high heels!!!  However, I have been trying to cool off on the heels while at work and so I'm trying to incorporate more flats into my wardrobe.

When I saw these leopard Steve Madden flats, I had to have them!!!  Surprisingly though, by the end of the day, they hurt like a mother! LOL!!!  You'd think they'd be comfortable.  My suggestion if you purchase these shoes would be to get a half size bigger.
I thought this was the perfect teacher look for the day.  We had a lab in class so I was able to maneuver my way around the lab and still look fashionable doing so.
The earrings I was wearing were a gift from a lady at my church and the bracelets were given to me by one of my besties, Bel!  They were a perfect match!

Before I go I wanted to tell you about a giveaway going on over at
This blog is run by Shatia, a blogger newbie and she is giving away some cool things.  Please stop by and show a little blogger love :)!

Tropical Smoothie

Hey Dolls,

Do you have a Tropical Smoothie Cafe where you live?  If not, you're missing out!!!  I absolutely love this place!

This post is long overdue but better late than never so here goes!
One of the main reasons I like Tropical Smoothie is because I can get something tasty to eat along with my smoothie!!!

The decor is know....tropical!!!!  LOL!  Everything is bright, cheery, and colorful, and beach inspired.  It makes dining in a welcoming experience.
This particular day, my co-worker and I to Tropical Smoothie for lunch.    She had never been so I recommended my fav....
The Baja Chicken toasted Flatbread Sandwich that comes with chicken, low fat mozzarella, green and red peppers, onions, romaine, and light-southwest ranch!  I always order this with a smoothie that has strawberry as one of the ingredients!

This particular day, I called myself going vegetarian.......let me just say FAIL!!!!  LOL!  I ordered the Hummus Veggie Flatbread that comes with hummus, pepper jack, southwest rice and corn, black beans, asparagus, onions, romaine, and salsa.

As you can see from the picture above, the majority of the ingredients I listed were completely absent in this veggie flat bread which made my first experience at vegetarian an unpleasant one.  I took two bites and trashed it.

From now on I'll stick to my Baja Chicken!
Talk to you all soon!

What's Cooking With Trice: Honey-Ginger Salmon

Hey Lovelies,

As most of you may already know....ya girl LOVES to cook!  I wish I had the time and energy to cook more often but after a long day at work, I want the quickest thing I can come up with.  Last night's dish was just that, quick and delish!!!!  Honey-Ginger Salmon!!!

Here's what you need:
Creole Seasoning, Orange Juice, Garlic Powder, Low-Sodium Soy Sauce, Honey, Salmon, Ginger, and Green Onion

1.) In a small dish add 1/4 cup of the orange juice, soy sauce, and honey.

2.) Add 1tsp of creole seasoning, garlic powder, and grated ginger.
3.) Chop 2 green onions and add to the marinade.
4.) Stir to combine everything then add your salmon, cover, and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.
5.) After the fish has marinated, add them to a hot grill pan and cook on each side for 8-10 minutes.  Brush the salmon with the marinade as it cooks.
6.) Once the fish flakes with a fork, take it off the heat, plate, and eat!!!
This meal didn't take long at all and it was as yummy as it looks!  I added my veggies and some leftover mashed potatoes and garnished with a little parsley.  SO GOOD!
If you try it, please let me know how it turned out!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sunday's Best on Tuesday!

Hey Dolls,

Back with a Sunday's Best outfit!  I know it's Tuesday but if you guys only knew how crazy my weeks have been lately, you'd understand.  Anywho here's what I wore to church on Sunday.

I have been waiting since last winter to wear these heels and am glad I finally got the opportunity to.  It was too cold to wear them in the winter and I just couldn't find the right outfit to wear them with in the spring and summer.  Now that it's fall, they go well with many things!

The message in church focused on following God's purpose for your life and walking by faith.  It was everything I needed to hear.  If you read my last post, you read that my car is in the shop.  Sometimes it seems as though trials come in the most inopportune times but I'm getting better at remembering that God won't put anything on me that I can't handle.  He always comes through and makes a way, even when I can't see it.

What's Cooking With Trice: Beef Fajitas!

Hi Dolls,

Last Saturday (9/22) I had the pleasure of attending a tasting for
Fat Cat Gourmet Condiments.  The tasting was held at a gourmet-styled retail shop called All Spiced-Up.  I immediately fell in love when I walked through the doors.  The store is located in San Marco which is known for their boutiques and All Spiced Up fit right in.  It's a small family owned store featuring unique blends, rubs, spices, oils, teas, and lots more!
At the tasting I bought one of the featured hot sauces.  It's called "Surprisingly Mild Guajillo Ghost"!  It's "surprising" because this sauce is made with ghost chili peppers which is the world's hottest pepper.  However, the sauce has very smoky and mild flavor.

I used it last week when I made beef fajitas!
Here's what you need!

Fajita Seasoning
1/4 cup Fat Cat Surprisingly Mild Guajillo Ghost Hot Sauce
Boneless Beef Round (cut in strips)
1 Green Pepper, sliced
1 Yellow Onion, sliced
2 TSP Salsa
Cheddar Cheese
Flour tortillas

1.) Slice and season your veggies and beef
2.) In a large baggie add the veggies, beef, and hot sauce and stick in the fridge for about 15 minutes to marinate.
(This can be done over night too)

3.) After 15 minutes, take your baggie out of the fridge and cook over a medium-high heat in a grill pan.  (smells so good!!!)
4.) Once the meat and veggies are cooked, add it to your tortilla, add a little salsa and cheese (or whatever you'd like), and eat up!!!
Most of you probably know that, quick, easy, and delicious is how I  like to roll when it comes to cooking!  This is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.  It was very flavorful and the hot sauce added just the right amount of heat!

If you try it, please let me know!  I'd love to hear how it turned out for you.  Have a great week dolls and thanks for stopping by!
