Spring in January!?!?!

Hey Dolls!

My sweetie and I went to dinner last night and I
wanted to show you all what I was wearing! But first take a look at the new doo!
Earrings:  Bealls Outlet
This was my birthday dress last year and while I was digging through my closet I saw it!  I almost forgot all about it.  In an effort to save more, I've been trying to "Shop My Closet" lately!

It feels like spring time in Florida right now!  With 80 degree weather, you'd think it was April so I had no problem putting this dress on for the night out on the town :)
Because the weather is so unpredictable, I did bring my cropped jacket in case it got a little chilly at night, and I'm glad I did.  Here is the look with the jacket.

Cropped Leather Jacket:  H&M/
Dress: Love Tease via Marshalls
Heels:  D Shoes

We had a very nice evening!  It was a great start to the weekend.  I needed a little pampering after the long work week I had!!!!  Hope you all have a FABULOUS weekend!  Talk to you soon.

Sunday's Best: Faux-y Lady

Hey Dolls,

I hope you all are having a great week so far!  The last couple of weeks have been pretty hectic for me. Especially at work.  I apologize for the lack of posts.  I took these last Sunday at church and I'm just now getting a chance to post.  Better late than never right?!?!  Here goes!

I'm sure some of you have heard the following statement "As Christians, we are in this world but not of this world."  It's our duty to minister to those who don't know Jesus.

We have to learn to live a holy as possible, especially in the kind of world we live in now.  I'm sure all of you can agree with me when I say it is so hard not to fall victim to the things that tempt us because temptation is all around us.  With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome those temptations.

Have you ever felt as though you've messed up so badly that God could never forgive you?

Ring:  TJ Maxx
Earrings: H&M

Well, there is NO sin to deep and NO mistake too great for God's mercy and forgiveness.

Have a great remainder of the week!!!  Smile and say nice things even when you don't want to.  Someone told me once that sometimes it just pays to be nice....they were right!!!

Be blessed!

Sunday's Best: Floral

Hi Dolls,

How was your long weekend, assuming that you all had Monday off for MLK day?  I enjoyed the weekend catching up on some much needed rest, hence the lack of posts lately.  Nevertheless, I am back with a Sunday's Best post!

Here are the shoes that inspired my outfit!
I found these shoes on sale at Marshalls last summer and thought they were super cute for a floral print!

The necklace that I wore with this outfit was from a Kiosk on the Las Vegas strip!  It was only $1.99 and came with matching earrings that you can't really see in the picture!!!

Here is the entire look!

  • Blazer:  H&M
  • Floral Bodysuit:  Forever 21
  • Black Slacks:  Ross
The message in church was from the book of Habakkuh and focused on how to overcome doubt and being honest with yourself.  The following statement resonated with me, "If you're honest with yourself, you can be the best YOU!  If  you have doubt, unbelief, instability, financial problems, romance problems, etc., it's because of you.  You have the power to change your situation."

Church was truly a blessing, as it always is and I pray that all of you have a wonderful work week!!!

Hi Dolls,
I would be remiss if I didn't share the fabulous food that I had when I went to Vegas!  There are several pictures of 5 different spots and a snack shack I visited while there for New Years.  If you plan on visiting Vegas in the future, I recommend these spots! For more Vegas restaurant reviews, please look at my blog posts here,           here and here from when I went over the summer.
Let's get right to it!

1.) Max Brenner:  Chocolate by Bald Man
(Caesars Palace)

This restaurant is for the Chocolate Lover in you!  The restaurant is well-known for it's desserts, but have a fabulous menu of savory dishes as well.

When you walk in, you are greeted with barrels of chocolate, chocolate colored walls, a hint of chocolate in the air, chocolate syringes, and a serene chocolatety ambiance.
The dessert menu tells a story about Max Brenner's love of chocolate.
Here's what we had to eat:

Fish Tacos w/ Red Beans and Rice
Max CheeseBurger and Fries
Steak Panini
This was my dish so I can tell you how good it was! It had delicious slices of steak, fried cheddar cheese, tomatoes, onions, spinach, and a delicious red pepper spread.

The Fries
The waffle fries have a savory chocolate powder that makes them taste so uniquely delicious!

Spicy Chicken Pizza

They even had a chocolate shop inside of the restaurant!

Overall, we were very pleased with Max Brennar.  The service was great as well as the food which always makes for a pleasant experience.  I will definitely go back.  Maybe next time, I'll get a dessert!

2.) Grand Lux Cafe (Venetian)

If you enjoy the food at The Cheesecake Factory, you will LOOOVVEEE Grand Lux Cafe!!!  It is owned by the same company.  The menu has a variety (not as lengthy as CF) of delicious food to choose from including a breakfast and late-night menu.  We went around brunch time and here is what we ordered:

This was my dish.  The Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich made with Brioche, bacon, egg, Vermont cheese, tomatoes, and ham, and a side of  hashbrown.  YUM!

Chicken and waffles!  It looked great!
Spicy chicken and shrimp jambalaya!!!! Mercy!
I've eaten here and at the one located at The Palazzo several times and I am never disappointed.  The food is always phenomenal!

3.) Rainforest Cafe (MGM Grand)

I have always wanted to try Rainforest Cafe ever since I first saw it several years ago.  I finally had the opportunity this time around in Vegas.

The ambiance is perfect for children!  The restaurant looks and sounds like the rainforest. It's definitely kid-friendly.

Unfortunately, the scenery was the best thing about this place.  The food was sorely overpriced and lacked flavor!!!  Here is what we had....you can probably look at it and see it lacked flavor.

Chicken and Beef Fajitas

Rotisserie Chicken and Mashed Potatoes (FlavorLESS)

Rainbow Trout (this was my dish and it was the tastiest!)
Overall the place was cute but the food was not...LOL!!!

Here's a quick look at what I was wearing that day!
Sunnies: Coach/Jacket: H&M/ Tights: Ross/ Boots: Bakers (old)

4.) Dragon Noodle Co. (Monte Carlo)
We finally went to Dragon Noodle Co. inside of the Monte Carlo hotel and casino after years of passing it by and I have to say it was a pleasant experience.
The fact that there was a lunch special that included soup, entree, spring rolls, rice, and a fortune cookie for $9.95 helped me like it even more!
I loved the oriental decor on the inside.  It was a lot bigger inside than I thought it would be.
Here is what we had to eat!
Egg Drop Soup
You have a choice between Egg Drop and Hot and Sour Soup.  I prefer Wonton over the two but that would've cost and extra $3....no thanks.
Orange Chicken
Kung Pao Chicken (SPICY!)
Sweet and Sour Chicken
Mongolian Beef
Me, happy because of my full belly! :)
I have to admit that the food here was pretty good for the price.  Perfect spot for lunch in Vegas!

5.) Catfish Alley (Hawaiian Marketplace)
If you're in the mood for some good ole' southern style catfish, Catfish Alley is the place to go honey!!!!  They have two locations and this one opened recently in Hawaiin Marketplace across from Aria!
The walls on the inside have pictures of celebrities. It sort of reminds me of Glady's Knights Chicken and Waffles in Atlanta.
The menu includes some of you southern favorites, like fried chicken, shrimp, and ofcourse catfish!

We ordered the family meal and shared!  Let me just tell you how delicious this catfish is....well I'll just say it's some of the best I've ever had. The seasoned fries were good too.  I liked them better than the sweet potato fries.
Oh and look who I ran into while at the Catfish Alley......"FLAVOR FLAV".... LOL!

I look forward to the next time I go to Vegas just to eat here again!  Two thumbs up from me!

6.) Big Hurt's snack Shack (Next to Flamingo Casino)
Last but not least, I had to share this snack that my brother just had to have from Big Hurt's Snack Shack!

This little shack seems like the perfect place to stop at for a quick, FATTENING pick me up, while trekking up and down the strip!!! The menu consists of your favorite carnival food like chili cheese dogs, nachos, and jumbo pretzels.

Looking at the menu  below, can you guess what he just insisted upon getting???

 Yep, FRIED OREOS!!!!
As if there aren't enough calories in a plain Snickers Bar, Twinkie, or Oreo, they are dipped in a batter, fried to golden perfection, then drowned in whipped cream and chocolate sauce......(My stomach hurts thinking about it! Guess that's where the stand got its name :)) Nevertheless, my brother TORE IT UP!!! He did say this a indulgence good for every 5 years lol!

Big Hurt's Snack Shack on Urbanspoon
WHEEWWW!!!  I know that was a lot but I just had to show you guys the wonderful places you can dine at in Vegas (and this doesn't even scratch the surface!)  I hope I'm not leaving you all too hungry.  To tell you the truth my stomach started growling just looking back at all of the good eats!
Next time I go to Vegas I want to try the following spots:
  • Mon Ami Gabe French Restaurant
  • The Sugar Factory Restaurant
  • Hash House a Go Go
  • Hot N Spicy Crawfish
If any of you have ever been to these places let me know what you think about them. I hope you all had a great start to the work week!  Talk to you all very soon!
