What's Cooking With Trice: Crawfish Etouffee

Hey Dolls!

Happy Friday!  I am back with a What's Cooking w/ Trice dish I grew up on that will make you wanna slap your mama....somebody LOL!  Crawfish Etouffee!!! photo etouffee_zps912caf83.jpg

If you don't like crawfish, you can totally swap it out with shrimp! Some of you may know that my mommy is from Louisiana so I ate a lot of this growing up as it is a cajun/creole dish that originates  from New Orleans!
You guys know I'm all about quick, easy, and delicious meals and this is definitely one of them! Traditionally this dish requires a roux but I wasn't really in the mood to make one so I swapped out a few ingredients and it turned out just as good.  Hence, the quick and easy version!

Ingredients:
Crawfish Tails
Cream of Mushroom Soup (1/2 can)
Golden Mushroom Soup (1/4 can)
Seasoning of Choice
Green Onion

Directions:
1.) If you buy your crawfish tails frozen, thaw them, drain the juice into a bowl (you'll need it later), season them well, and saute them until they are hot through out.

2.) Add in the 1/2 can of cream of mushroom and 1/4 can of golden mushroom and mix well.  The mixture may be thick so add some of the juice you drained from the crawfish earlier.  If it's too thin, add more of the cream of mushroom until you reach desired consistency.  You don't want it too thick and you don't want it too thin.

3.) Cut up a few green onions and sprinkle over the etoufee (I forgot to do this) and serve over white rice.

This is unbelieveably good and so easy to make!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
XOXO

God Works in Mysterious Ways

Hey Dolls,
I'm back with a Sunday's Best outfit from a couple of weeks ago.  I immediately fell in love with this blouse when I first laid eyes on it!  Unfortunately, the pictures don't do it justice.  I also want to share a story with you.
 photo galaxy1_zpsf35c9fe6.jpg
Do you ever wonder why things happen the way they do?  Why certain people come into your lifeI know I do.  I used to fret over things like this but now I understand that everything happens for a reason and I truly believe it.  It's not by happenstance that we go through the things we go through whether good or not so good.  I try to learn from every circumstance.
 photo galaxy2_zps5ca27762.jpg

A colleague of mine, who I have known for the last 5 years or so was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer a few months after having her second child about a year and a half ago.  She seemed like the picture of health and went in due to discomfort not knowing how grim the diagnosis would be.  Over the last year she was OK and went in regularly for her treatmentsI found out this Tuesday that things turned for the worst and she went into hospice.  I promised to go and visit Thursday but she passed away Wednesday morning, the day after I found out.

It is still very hard to grasp the fact that she's no longer here but I know that God works in miraculous ways.  She was an absolute delight to be around.  She always and I mean ALWAYS had a smile on her face.  In 5 years of knowing her I can honestly say that I never once saw her get upset.  Even in her last moments, I was told she was asking everyone else if they were O.K.  She was truly an angel and in times like this understand that God has a greater purpose for why He does what He does.  She touched soooooo many lives in such a positive way which will make it easy to celebrate the life she lived.  God works in mysterious ways and I truly believe we should mind who we entertain for we may be entertaining angels.

Be blessed!

CHOMP CHOMP!

Hi Guys!

The other day when I was downtown I was in the mood to try something new for lunch.  I figured I would go into the first spot that caught my eye and the artwork behind Chomp Chomp did it for me!
 photo chomp3_zps9746a980.jpg
The restaurant seriously looks like a hole in the wall and there is hardly enough room to move around in but I kinda liked that about them.  While I waited for my order, I sat at the counter and the rock band bar stools were pretty cool.  The one next to me was of Led Zeppelin.

I love Pineapple flavored pop and they had just that amongst other Jarritos Mexican sodas to choose from.  From what I've been told, the menu at Chomp Chomp changes frequently but I was in the mood to try something I normally wouldn't I an attempt to diversify my palette.  I went for the Panko Crusted Chicken Sandwich.

Now I know you're thinking what's so diverse about a Panko Crusted chicken Sandwich and my answer is nothing really however, the sandwich comes slathered in Blue Cheese that I normally don't care for.  I tried it and although the cheese had a sharp and tangy bite to it, the sandwich was really good.  It also came with homemade chips that had some type of All-Spice flavoring going on.  They tasted interesting but I'll probably go for a salad next time instead of chips.  All in all, I liked Chomp Chomp and for a hole in the middle of UrbanCore Jacksonville, they've got my vote on good quality food.

Mellow Yellow

Hey dolls,

How are my peeps doing!?!?  Today has been just an O.K. day. It's raining, and dreary outside and everything just seems to be in slow motion.   It's been one of those days where everything is just "blah".  I'm ready to crawl in my bed and sleep the rest of the day away.  Ever have one of those days?

Anywho, here is an outfit that I wore to an event at my church a little while ago.

I took these pictures with my phone so please excuse the quality and the huge bar at the bottom of each pic. lol!  Let's focus on the outfit people...focus LOL!!  My top is actually more of a chartreuse color than yellow but this is how it showed up on the camera

.  On another note, I love throwing my hair up in the natural updo!  It's so so easy and it looks so elegant!  I think it dresses up an outfit!  Hair can definitely be an accessory.

Guess Who's Back?!?!

Hello Beautiful People!!!

I know I have been M.I.A. for about a month or so now but chile...LIFE happened for real!!!  The break was much needed but I truly missed blogging so it is my hope to be back with more consistency this month.

Here's what I wore to church last Sunday!

One of my new favorite things, as some of you may know is ShoeDazzle!!!  They have the most amazing shoes in my opinion.  My outfit was put together around these geometric patterned SD heels!  The heel isn't too high which makes them super easy to walk in and I received so many compliments!

Jumper:  Michael Kors/ Blazer: Jones NY (Thrifted)/ Belt: Body Central/ Heels: ShoeDazzle
I really don't frequent Body Central anymore because I feel the clothing is geared for a younger crowd but last weekend they had a really big sale.  I went with a friend of mine to shop for her daughter and I made it out with a load of cute belts that were on sale for $.99- $1.99!  The belt I'm wearing was one of them!  SCORE!!!

Alrighty guys that's all I have for you right now.  I promise to be back ASAP!!!  Take care!
