Hey Lovelies!

I participated in the March Foodie Penpals and this is definitely one of my favorite trades!   I was partnered with Cyndi K. and she sent me some of the best items from her local Fresh Market in Michigan!  Because I'm so greedy, I left it up to her to put together my box with no restrictions and after visiting my blog she discovered that I like spicy food and pasta, hence the fabulous goodies she sent me!!!

 My box included:
Habanero Pistachios (YUM)
Grill honey (LOVE)
Sweet and Spicy Cabbage (CAN'T WAIT TO TRY)
Fresh Garlic (LOVE)
White Tea (LOVE)
Fresh Pasta (SO COOL!)
Pepper Jelly (CAN'T WAIT TO USE AS A GLAZE ON SOME CHICKEN!)
I loved everything she sent and can't wait to use it all up!  Thanks so much Cyndi!!!  The Foodie Penpal Program is so much fun when your partner participates correctly.  I've been slighted a few times, but hey you win some, you lose some, that's life.  Overall, it's a great way to try foods from different areas and interact with others with your same passion for food!

Hey Dolls,

Lately I have been doing a lot of food posts and have neglected my fashion posts due to my tri-annual "I have nothing to wear!!!" situation! LOL! But after all of the compliments I received today for my outfit, I had to share with you all!

Do any of you ever feel like you're just super bloated and nothing you put on is going to look right???  Well that has been me for the last few days.  I didn't want to wear anything that was clingy but I still wanted to be cute of course!  So I pulled this ensemble out of the back of the closet and viola!  This isn't new but in order to tone down the zebra print jumper, I added a neutral cami and blazer to make it more teacher/work friendly!

What do you think?

Jumper and Cami/ H&M  Blazer: Forever 21  Sandals:  Sam Edelman

I have been in love with Bahama Breeze since the first time I had it about 5 or 6 years ago so I was elated when I was invited last Sunday to try their new Dark N' Stormy cocktail in celebration of World Meteorological Day!
I have had the pleasure of dining with them on several occasions and I will probably always recommend them!  Check out my previous posts here and here.

Here is the run down from last Sunday:

Dark N' Stormy cockail:  A unique hand crafted cocktail with Gosling Black Seal Rum and Ginger Soda.  I really liked this cocktail.  It was very light and refreshing.

We also had some yummy appetizers to go along with the cocktail:

Spinach & Artichoke Dip:  This was, hands down, the best spinach and artichoke dip I have tried to date!  Congratulations Bahama Breeze!

Coconut Shrimp/ Coconut Onion Rings:  Delicious coconut battered shrimp and onion rings with a cool citrus mustard dipping sauce!

Chicken Empanada:  These were good but I normally order the beef empanadas which have curry flavors that I enjoy more. I think it was the mushrooms in the chicken empanadas I didn't care for.

Key-lime Pie:  Deliciously tart and sweet!  The pie crust is amazing!

Overall, my dining experience at Bahama Breeze was pleasant per usual!  If you have one in your city or near by, stop in for a bite to eat.   You'll love it!

As always, thank you so much for stopping by!
I'll be back soon!

Hey Lovelies!

One thing I can say about the city of Jacksonville is that it sure has a lot of interesting dining options to choose from!  Last Saturday, while doing a little shopping at the Town Center one of my friends said "I'm hungry.....I want some cheese."  We all laughed and said "Cheeeese???"   She made it very clear that she didn't want something "cheesy" like pizza, but actual "cheese". Everyone looked at me because I'm the food blogger of the group and the first thing that came to mind was Ovinte.  I had been wanting to get over there for a while and this was the perfect opportunity to try their cheese and charcuterie and some wine for an early start to our evening.

When we walked we were instantly impressed with the decor and the lounge set-up!  Perfect for our girls night out gathering.  The atmosphere was very relaxing, the music was awesome, and our server was the best (Hi Hunter!)  This made for a wonderful dining experience.
There were a lot of things on the menu we wanted to try and lucky for us, the menu options are tapas and small plates.  This made it easy for us to share so we ordered a few different things to satisfy all of our palates, and we made sure  my friend got her "cheese" LOL!  Here's what we had!
Cheese & Charcuterie
Ofcourse, the cheese and fresh fruit were good but the honeycomb and Marcona almonds were divine!
Herb Truffle Fries
These were my favorite!  I was gobbling them down like I was in a fries eating contest LOL!  These shoestring cut fries were dusted with sea-salt, fresh herbs, parmesan, and truffle oil.....YUM!
Bacon Wrapped Dates
These were amazing...they were so good we placed a second order of them.  The little mahon cheese surprise inside of the dates and the apple wood bacon did it for us!
Chorizo Al Vino Tinto
Another amazing choice!  The chorizo had a nice spiciness to it that wasn't overwhelming and the wine and herbs it was cooked in was heavenly!  It was perfect to dip our grilled bread in ...and fries
Empanadas de Chorizo
These were our least favorite of everything.  A little too doughy perhaps and not much flavor.  Pretty to look at though.  :)
Moroccan-Spiced Pork Skewers
These were very good especially with the arugula salad!  The meat had the perfect blend of moorish spices.
We all agreed Ovinte would be our new ladies night out meet up spot!  The atmosphere is perfect, the wine and food is amazing, and the staff are wonderful!  I can see this place becoming a favorite and I look forward to returning!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Hey Dolls,

I know I haven't posted much fashion lately.  I guess you can say I'm in a bit of a fashion rut....but a girl still has to eat right!?!?!   With that being said, I am back with a "What's Cooking with Trice" post.  I have been trying to eat healthier for the last few weeks and just completed a 10 day Daniel Fast that I will blog about a little later.  This particular fast required I consume no meat, sugar, or dairy.  I ended the fast last Friday but in an attempt to maintain a more health conscious diet, I'm going to try to do Meatless Mondays because I just can't see giving it up all together...I love it too much.  Here is what I had this Monday, a Caprese sandwich or Grilled Margherita Sandwich!  It was so easy to make and SOOOOOOOO GOOOD!  Here's what you do.

 photo caprese1_zps1dfb6762.jpg
Ingredients:
2 slices Whole Grain French Bread
Fresh Mozzarella
Fresh Basil
1 clove of fresh garlic
Olive oil
Garlic seasoning and pepper

Directions:
1.) Rub fresh garlic on the inside of both slices of bread.
2.) Thinly slice mozzarella and place on one slice of bread.
3.) Thinly slice tomatoes and place on the bread.
4.) Sprinkle the tomatoes with garlic and pepper seasoning.
5.) Add a few slices of fresh basil .
6.) Add a few more slices of mozzarella and then the other slice of bread.
7.) Drizzle a little olive oil over the top of the bread and sprinkle with the garlic and pepper seasoning.
8.) Grill on both sides until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.

This was so amazingly good that I wanted to make another one but I resisted.
Until then, stay hungry and stay fabulous and as always
thanks for stopping by!
