Hey Dolls!

I'm really excited to share this post with you all!  Some of you may know that I recently hosted a Breakfast at Tiffany's themed 30th birthday brunch for my friend Krystle.  The best part about it was that I did it all by myself
(with a little Pinterest inspiration)!
Just call me Trice, the fab party planner LOL!
Although it wasn't much, I was really proud of how everything turned out.  I got my friend Veronica, who is an aspiring photographer, to take photos of the event so all of these pictures are courtesy of her.
Take a look!
I really LOVE the big "3-0" balloons but boy were they temperamental!  They wouldn't stay still for a good shot lol!
Here's the spread!  Shrimp and spinach risotto, mini french toast, bacon and eggs, caramel apples, cupcakes of course , party favors, and the Breakfast at Tiffany's the movie!
These were my mini pecan french toasts and strawberries!  I lucked up and found these adorable mini mason jars at HomeGoods which were perfect for the dish!
More decor!  This huge martini glass was another score for the occasion!
These cupcakes were from the one and only CamiCakes!  They're the best in town!

I found this wrapping paper that closely resembled the traditional Tiffany blue color at The Dollar Tree!  Score big time!  I wrapped a really pretty crystal diamond paper weight for each guest as a parting favor!  I mean every girl deserves a diamond right?!?

They almost perfectly matched the real Tiffany & Co. bags I had on the table.
What's a brunch without mimosas!!!??!?  We had three flavors, orange, pomegranate, and strawberry. YUM!
Each guest received dark shades, long gloves, and a champagne stem once they arrived.

They were perfect for our mini photo shoot outside!
Here is the birthday girl, Krystle!  Such a doll!
We were fabulous dahling...
...and we love our friend!!!
Toast to a wonderful birthday!
So what do you guys think?  Krystle loved everything!  She said it totally exceeded any expectation she had!  I was happy everything turned out the way I imagined!  I'm ready to plan another party!  After we ate, sipped, and took photos, we all grabbed a blanket and watched "Breakfast at Tiffany's!  It was perfect!
As always, thanks for stopping by.
Have a great weekend!
XOXO

Hey Lovelies,

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful Yelp event at Mezza Restaurant & Bar in Neptune Beach. It is always a task to find good parking at the beach but for this event, Valet parking was complimentary which was a wonderful gesture!
Upon our arrival, we were greeted with smiles, taken to our private room on the covered patio of the restaurant, and given a cute little Yelp man clock and a glass of Prosecco to sip on while we mingled before the event started
Everything was decorated for fall!  I loved the leaf candles and mini pumpkins!
As you can see, I'm always ready for a great event that features food!!!  Even better if wine's involved.

This event focused on fine fall pairing so Chef Brian and wine connoisseur, Amber gave us an expository on the 5 course meal we'd be partaking in as well as the wines paired with each course.
Course 1: we had a chilled Vichyssoise & Butternut Squash Layered Soup.  It was garnished with delicious candied pecans.
The wine pairing for this course was Boisset No21 Brut Cremant de Bourgogne.
Course 2:  Beet Tartare with Goat Cheese Mousse, poached egg.  I really enjoyed the Beet Tartare but I'm not very fond of poached egg so I ate around it.
This course was paired nicely with Vincent Delaporte Sancerre, Louire, FR.
Course 3 was probably my favorite!  It was Proscuitto & Smoked Duck Salad.  The smoky flavor of this dish was perfect with the sweet peaches and raspberry balsamic.
The salad was also paired nicely with Chateau Guiot Rose, Rhone Valley.
Course 4 was my second favorite, Peekytoe Crab Crepes.  It was full of creamy crab and marscapone cheese and placed on top of a delicious smoked tomato butter with balsamic pearls, and garnished with pea shoots.
It was paired with Ponzi Tavola, an Oregon Pinot Noir.
In celebration of fall, Course 5 was a Pumpkin Cake and Spiced Orange Reduction.  On top of the cake was a delicious praline crumble.  This cake was incredibly moist and a perfect dessert for the occasion.
At this point, I'd reached my limit of spirited beverages but the pumpkin cake was paired with a very strong, 10 year old Tawny Port, Warre's Otima.
Mezza restaurant & bar on Urbanspoon
The evening was exquisite!  The meals were decadent, the setting was classy, and the most importantly, everyone who attended had a great time.  I always have fun at Yelp events!  It's great being around people with similar interests!
As always thanks for stopping by!
I'll be back soon.

Hi Dolls,

The other day mother nature decided to tease us here in Jacksonville.  It was beautiful fall temperatures when I walked outside....it's back to the high 80s now :(  The weather is so indecisive.  Anywho, I am totally in love with this bright floral peplum!

 photo DSC_0871_zps680d5409.jpg
Like with most peplums, it can be dressed up or down.  Here I wore it with a pencil skirt and heels but I can see wearing it with skinny jeans and heels as well.

The reason I bought this skirt is because of the faux leather panel on the side of it.  It adds a little edge!

Like I mentioned earlier, the weather was brisk so here is the look with the jacket.

Hey Dolls,

I am super excited to share this post with you!  I enjoy shopping in Nordstrom around the holidays with my mom so when I found out we were getting one in Jacksonville, I was beyond the moon!  My girl Cathy, from Minister of Style,  was chosen by @igersjax to be an attendee for a tour of the new Norstrom before their grand opening and she took me along with her for the fun so you know I couln't pass up this opportunity!
Can you see the excitement on my face?!?!
Before touring the store, we got a little history and news about what Nordstrom has been up to.
Besides them being a fabulous safe haven for all your designer brands, I was pleased to find out that the Jacksonville Nordstrom raised over $100,000 for Wolfson's children's hospital, and other local charities! This is the store manager for the Jacksonville Nordstrom and she was very excited to give us this amazing news!

Did you know that in 1901, when Nordstrom first opened, it was just a shoe store?!?!?  That was a great bit of history if you ask me! Rightfully so, we began our tour in the shoe department!
Michael Kors Shoe display
These Kate Spade "Taxi" flats are too cute for words!  I have no clue what I'd wear them with  but I think I want them!
So were these sparkly pink pumps!
The tour was on a tight schedule so I saw a lot of shoes that I wanted to savor but I didn't want to get left behind so I had to pass them by.

But nearby was the fabulous cosmetics section!
I loved the "Mini Must-Haves", some of our favorite beauty products in bite size packaging and "bite-size" prices!  This Laura Mercier Foundation Primer kind of stuck out to me!

Lip Maestro Lip Color
Our next stop was the EBAR!
We were greeted with big smiles and complimentary Orange-Pineapple Spritzers....
and coffee however you wanted it!
 Iced or hot!
I had a little fun with my iced coffee and the Nordstrom sign!
Next we made our way upstairs and saw more clothes, more shoes, more great stuff!!!!
Free People Clothing
 Really cute children's clothing!
I love the baby Chewbacca!  He was adorable.

Upstairs was this really cute dressing room waiting area!  Super comfy with lots to look at!
Soooooo, you know your girl was super excited when I found out we were going to be getting food and cocktails at the restaurant upstairs, "Bazille"!  Everything in the tour was amazing but this was probably the highlight of the event for me! After the shoes, of course!
We were greeted with a scrumptious array of tasty treats off the Bazille menu!
The toast points came with a delicious concoction of goat cheese, pesto, and tomato jam.  It was amazing!  I didn't try the tartare but I'm sure it was great.
The margherita pizza was divine!  I went back for seconds.
The Fried calamari was a hit!  The sweet chili dipping sauce was a perfect match!
I didn't try this and I'm sad I didn't because it looked delicious!
  This shrimp dish was AMAZEBALLS!
The cocktails were pretty amazing too!  This was a cocktail that Cathy had.  It had lavender and blueberries in it!
I had two cocktails...don't judge.  This was the Smoke & Heat, a fancy magarita!  The salt around the rim was a smoky seasalt giving the drink a very distinctive yet yummy taste!
The bartenders were very focused as they fixed my second cocktail, the Amelia.
 Both cocktails were delicious!
 Bazille on Urbanspoon
As if everything up to this point wasn't magnificent, we received goodie bags on our way out!
In the bag was a adorable Instagram coffee mug, coffee, and a make up bag with sample goodies!
I thoroughly enjoyed myself today and I am so happy Cathy invited me!  Big thanks to Nordstrom too for letting us roam the floors before the big crowd makes their way there for the Grand Opening this Friday!  I can't wait to go back and get my shopping on!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I'll be back soon.
XOXO
