Hi Dolls,

Are you like me and associate the seasons with specific foods or activities?  For example, I associate winter with my family and gumbo, spring with my birthday and pizza (don't ask), summer with traveling and "watching what I eat", and fall with football and chicken wings!  I mean, come on! What's better than watching my Florida State Seminoles crush everyone while indulging in chicken wings and a spirited beverage???  One of my favorite places to eat wings is Wild Wing Cafe and the one here in Jax recently reopened after being closed due to a kitchen fire a few years ago.
I have to admit, I'm pretty excited!  Besides home cooked, they probably do have "The best wings south of Buffalo"!
Wild Wings Cafe has over 30 different made from scratch flavors from traditional buffalo to jalepeno cheddar!  My favorite flavor of the night was the Honey Lime Sriracha.  It was definitely finger-licking good!  If you follow my snapchat, you know exactly what I'm talking about LOL!
For all of the wing lovers out there, you'll be pleased to know that on Monday through Friday from 11:30am to 1:30pm, you can enjoy the all you can eat wing bar!   Can you imagine if this option was available during the games....they'd be eaten out of a house and home!
Though, they are well known for their wings, they have a variety of other menu items like 100% grass-fed, ground chuck burgers, nachos, chargrilled chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, and these boneless wings!  With that being said, you're sure to get what you need while you enjoy your favorite sports team play!  They also have football specials on game days that you wouldn't want to miss out on so make sure you ask about them.
The icing on the cake for me is the live entertainment from local musicians!  Whether outside or in,  Wild Wings usually has live music lined up for the weekend!  When I went a few weeks ago for the Grand Opening, I had the pleasure of listening to the very talented Lunar Coast Band!
With them serenading us while we ate all the wings we could, the night was a blast!  If you have a Wild Wings Cafe in your neck of the woods, you have to give them a visit!  Try the honey sriracha wings and tell me what you think!  As always, thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!
XOXO

Hi Lovelies,

Earlier this week I attended an amazing NomNomJax dinner event at the beautiful 619 Ocean View Restaurant in Ponte Vedra.  First and foremost do you see this picturesque view of the ocean below...well this is what we had the pleasure of  beholding the entire evening while we dined!
Not only was the view breathtaking, the food was pretty darn good as well!  For starters we had several appetizers including this delicious Argentinia cheese pastry made with tapioca sugar.
This Preserved Lemon Hummus was probably some of the best hummus I've ever eaten!
This was the Barrel Batched Cocktail for the evening!  It was made with Blueberry, Thyme, and St. Augustine Distillery Vodka.  It was very light and fresh!
Amuse:  Crab and Purple Potato Causa
Made with crab, avocado, and aji amarillo.
1st Course:  Sweet and Sour Smoked Sausage
Made with pickled watermelon and datil peach jam.
2nd Course:  Sunny Bibb Salad
Made with sunflower seeds, goat cheese, and Orange Florida citrus vinaigrette.
3rd Course:  Smoked St. Louis Style Ribs
Made with vinegar, savoy cabbage, corn, hominy, and peppers.
4th Course:  Seafood Paella
Made with scallops, shrimp, mussels, clams, chicken, smoked sausage, heirloom vegetables, and saffron.
5th course:  "Snickers in a Cup"
Made with caramel, pink sea salt, dark chocolate, cream, and vanilla.

This dessert was everything you probably imagine it to be!  DELICIOUS and a perfect ending to a perfect evening!  If you haven't had the chance to attend a NomNomJax event, you are totally missing out on some of the most amazing dinner events at some of Jacksonville's best restaurants!  Take this hidden gem for example.  Myself and several others had never even heard of 619 Ocean View before this event and I can hardly wait to go back!  It was a great evening with great people, great food, and a great view!  As always thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Lovelies!

Through meticulous Pinterest trolling, I have found the perfect summer salad!  It's light, fresh, and ridiculously easy to make!  It takes no time at all and requires minimal ingredients!  On these hot summer nights, that is exactly what I need, a quick dinner that is healthy and delicious!
Here is the Summer Tomato and Avocado Salad!
Like I mentioned earlier, the ingredients are minimal!  You may already have them on hand.
Ingredients:
1 English cucumber
3 Avocados
4 Roma tomatoes
1/2 Red Onion
1 Lemon
1 cup Cilantro (optional)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper
Making this dish is as easy as listing the few ingredients it takes to make it!  All you have to do is chop everything up and throw it in a bowl!
Once everything is in the bowl, make the dressing!  Add the juice of 1 lemon...
and 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.
Add salt and pepper to taste and mix away!
Ladies and gentlemen, that is it!  It takes no time at all and it is delicious!
I didn't have cilantro on hand so I omitted it.  I made this around lunch time and enjoyed a bowl by itself for lunch and with chicken breast for dinner!  It was even better after chilling in the fridge for a few hours.  If you're all about quick and easy meals that are healthy and packed with flavor, you have to try this!  The next time I make this I'm going to add some feta cheese!  Ooh I bet that will set it off quite nicely!
As always dolls, thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi Dolls,

Who says adults can't rock overalls?!?  When I saw these overalls in Zara over the summer it was love at first sight and when I tried them on I knew they had to be mine!  I mean to be completely honest I thought my Kriss Kross, overalls with one strap to the back days ended in 10th grade but I have had a change of heart!  Clearly, overalls can be worn at any age!
Last week I met with the producers of a local day time television show and they did a segment with me at this really cool spot downtown with graffitti all over the walls!  The segment was "A Day in The Life of a Fashion Blogger"!  I was thrilled for the opportunity and welcomed the chance to speak on my experiences as a blogger!  You guys have to check it out here!
Every year I am amazed at the things I have been able to accomplish as a blogger!  Last year, I was on a different show right before school started to give my fellow teachers tips on how to be fashionable in the classroom (here) and this year a feature on just me, lil' ole me!  But the most gratifying part of it all is having readers who enjoy stopping by on a regular basis!  Besides this being a hobby for me, you guys are who I do it for!  If I don't say it enough, I appreciate you all!  You're all "friends in my head"!
I've been blogging for a while now and what started off as a creative outlet has afforded many things for me like new friends who enjoy the same things I do, a new love for the city I live in, invites to private restaurant tastings and events, a lot more creativity, and opportunities to speak on television about two things I love, fashion and food!  Yes, there are way more successful bloggers than me by a long stretch, but these things are far more than I ever expected when I first started.
I am definitely humbled and grateful for anything that comes along with being a blogger and will continue to do it as long as possible.  For those of you who read my posts and support me, love ya, mean it!
Top:  Forever 21
Overalls:  Zara
Necklace:  Charming Charlie

Thank you all for coming along for the ride and staying a while!  You're the bestest!  For a peek at the segment click here!
