Casual But Cute!

Hi Dolls,

What is going on with this winter?  It was near 80 degrees yesterday!  Whew!  I won't complain though because I prefer a warm, breezy day over a cold and dreary one.  Anywho,  I love going to my parents during the holidays!  There's nothing like being able to lounge around in my jammies with a nice cup of coffee, catching up on the soaps with my mom, or testing out a new recipe on my dad (he'll say it's good even if it's not), or breaking out the old school Nintendo with my brother!  There's nothing like family!  An added bonus is that I have a blog photographer on request!
So who says you can't rock a tee and boyfriend jeans and still look fabulous?!?!?  Just add a cute pair of pumps and a duster and your casual looks just got better!
I love this graffic tee!  I want to say it's the little monkey from the Lion King but I'm not quite sure.  Nevertheless, I love the message.  It says "Oh yes, the past can hurt but the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it."  So very true!
If it were cold outside, this pink duster would be the perfect addition to kicking up this casual look.  However, it was literally a winter scorcher so I had to peel it off quickly.
Graphic Tee:  Shein (here)
Duster: Zaful (here)
Boyfriend Jeans:  Banana Republic (similar)
Heels: Boutique 9
Maybe it'll cool down in January or February. Until then, enjoy the warm winter, unless your in another neck of the woods where it's really winter!  If so, send a cool breeze my way!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Grateful For 2016

Hi Dolls,

As 2016 comes to a close and I reflect over the year I've had, I can say that I am truly grateful!  Grateful for the good and all the blessings bestowed upon me and grateful for the not so good because I always use those moments as opportunities for growth.  I am excited for the new year!  I'm excited for things I have planned and I'm excited for all the good getting ready to come my way!  Yes, I am claiming it, putting in the atmosphere, and thanking God in advance!  Of course, one thing I plan on doing is kicking my blog up another notch!
I've been blogging for a while now and my growth has been slow but steady!  I see other bloggers who have had great success and I often find myself wondering how can I get to that level.  Everyone has a webinar here and a tutorial there and it seems completely overwhelming. Then I remember why I started blogging in the first place and I'm brought back down to reality.  I do it because I LOVE it and it makes me happy!
When I think about how good I feel typing up a blog post and sharing outfits and restaurant reviews with my blog family, there's absolutely nothing to complain about!  Even if there's one person who enjoys stopping over at High Heels and Good Meals, I have fulfilled my mission!
I have no intentions on stopping anytime soon!
Now on to what I'm wearing!  Last summer I took an amazing trip to Ecuador!  It was one of the most amazing experiences I've had to date and while there we went to a market where I found this gorgeous poncho!
It's made with alpaca fur and it's so soft and so beautiful!  The color is vibrant and happens to be my favorite color!  When I saw it, there wasn't too much convincing to get me to purchase it!  The weather this winter has been so fickle so the day I wore this, I was a little too warm!  When it decides to actually get cold, I'm sure this poncho will keep me very cozy!
Poncho:  Ecuadorian Market
Jeans & Sweater:  Marshalls
Boots:  ShoeDazzle (here)
These boots are so stylish and unbelievably comfortable!  Plus they are on sale right now over at ShoeDazzle along with some great $10 deals!!!
So what are your plans for the New Year?
Besides everything I've already mentioned, redecorating my house, cooking more, and of course, hitting the gym up more, are all high up on my to-do list!  If I don't post again before Sunday, have an amazing New Year and be safe New Year's Eve!  And as always, thank you so much for stopping by!

P.S. I Love JORD (Giveaway)

Hi Dolls,

Behold the beauty that is this JORD Wooden Timepiece!  I've seen these watches on some of my favorite Instagrammers and have admired them from a far thinking to myself "Oh, how I would LOVE to have one of those wooden watches!"  Welp, I guess the universe was listening when, to my surprise,  I received the coveted email asking me to partner with them!  This beauty is the
Frankie 35 series in Dark Sandalwood and Mint and it was literally love at first sight!
I patiently awaited the arrival of my new watch but I didn't have to wait long because it was on my doorstep two days later.  The packaging alone is stunning!  The beautiful watch came in a wooden box that was equally breathtaking!
My new timepiece arrived safely wrapped around a burlap watch pillow inside of this gorgeous two level wooden box.  I was not expecting there to be two compartments but the drawer at the bottom is perfect for holding the extra links.  Speaking of extra links, JORD will provide you with instructions on how to measure your wrist so they can take out links if needed.  This way your timepiece will arrive to you perfectly sized and ready to wear right out of the box!  I will be using this beautiful box when I travel, to hold my jewelry.
The watch itself is a minimalist's dream!  It's sophisticated and modeled after a modern lifestyle with natural wood and a premium quartz chronograph.  The cooling mint is balanced perfectly with the dark Sandalwood.  It is sure to be a conversation starter!  I'm excited to wear it because the mint face matches my new Prada eyeglasses which are also mint and tortoise shell!  I am going to be too cute in the New Year!   Let's just say Christmas came a little early for me!
Yes,  I know Christmas is a few days away but you know what's right around the corner!?!  Yep, that's right, Valentine's Day!  Warm the heart of the one you cherish by gifting them a natural wood watch from JORD!  There is no better way to show your guy that time always seems to stand still when he's around!  Haha, mushy right but so true?!?   I think I'll be getting my boyfriend one of these baddies for V-day!  Shhhh don't tell him!

BoneFish Grille's New Winter Menu

Hi Lovelies,

Have I ever told you how much I love seafood?  It's probably my favorite type of food so when Bonefish Grill contacted me to try  their new winter menu, I was much obliged! If you're familiar with Bonefish, you have to know about their infamous Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer!  If not, check out my first food picture here.
It took a heck of a lot of will power not to order it this time around but I successfully resisted because I absolutely had to try the Lobster, Crab and Artichoke Dip that's featured on their new winter menu!
The dip comes with sweet lobster, lump crab, and house made tortilla chips.  One thing I can say about this appetizer is that they do NOT skimp on the meat!  It was full of lobster and crab!  The house made chips had a delightful sprinkling of Old Bay making this appetizer pretty darn tasty!
I ordered the Fresh Oscar Mahi Mahi which is also a part of the new Winter menu!  It's a wood-grilled fresh Mahi Mahi topped with jumbo lump crab and served with freshly steamed asparagus, lemon butter sauce, and two sides.  The Mahi was incredibly flavorful but as you can see the portion was surprisingly small leaving me wanting more!
My boyfriend was in the mood for a classic so he ordered the Alaskan Cod Fish and Chips.  There's really no way to mess up tempura-style cod and fries!  It was good, especially with the malt vinegar and tartar sauce.
Though Bonefish Grill specializes in seafood,  a portion of their menu is dedicated to dishes "From The Land".  We've always heard great things about the Bonefish Wagyu Beef Burger so we decided to give it a try and it was one of the best burgers I've tasted in a while!  It came on a brioche bun and was fully dressed with sharp cheddar and a special sauce.
One of the cocktails from the winter menu, indulgent enough to make any celebration spectacular, is this Winter White Cosmo!  It features Reyka Vodka, Cointreau, St. Germain Eldeflower liquer, white cranberry juice, and fresh lime juice.  If this cocktail doesn't scream the holidays, I don't know what will!

Other dishes from the winter menu include the Misoyaki Chilean Sea Bass, Filet and Lobster Thermidor which looked amazing (we saw on our way out on another guests plate), and Chocolate Creme Brule!   You can take a look at other special winter menu items here and for those of you looking for a last minute holiday gift you can receive a $10 Bonus Card for every $50 purchased in gift cards now through December 31st!  Plus, enjoy free gift card personalization with a greeting card and free standard shipping when you purchase online, or pick them up at your local Bonefish Grill!
Even if you're done with your Christmas shopping, Valentine's Day is right around the corner and Bonefish would be the perfect place to go for a romantic dinner!
As always, thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Black Sheep, the Best Sheep!

Hi Dolls,

I attended a Christmas Party at none other than the fabulous Black Sheep Restaurant, in 5 points last night!  We were on the rooftop, which at this time of year, was perfect!  Not only did we have beautiful views of the city but the ambiance was perfect for a Christmas party, complete with white lights, candles, and heater towers.  I wore this really cute leather skater dress I bought on sale last summer from Zara and it was the right amount of coverage for the cool Florida evening!
This is a food post so I won't waste anytime describing the amazing food we had.  For starters, we had several appetizers.  Everyone didn't get the memo that I needed pictures first before digging in so the absolutely amazing Chicken Liver Mousse with southern pepper relish was not photographed.  Take my word for it, you want to get this when you go to Black Sheep!  It is delicious.  Here is what I was able to get before devoured.
Old Bay Potato Chips:  These chips are made in house and dusted with, you guessed it, Old Bay.  It came with a Point Reyes Blue Cheese Fondue for dipping.  I'm not a fan of blue cheese so I dipped mine in the chicken liver mousse, don't judge.  It was just as good, if not better this way!
Fried Green Olives:  I've never had olives this way before but I'm sure it won't be my last.  It tasted exactly how it is described, like a fried olive.  It was stuffed with house-made pimento cheese which added a nice little surprise when you bit into it.
Korean Beef Short Ribs:  This happened to be my dish!  Our waitress was right when she said, "Everyone will be jealous of your dish"!  It was absolutely delectable!  As a matter of fact my mouth is watering a little right now just looking at the picture.  The bulgogi marinated beef was incredibly tender and all of the sides including logan turnpike grits, kimchi, and a soft boiled egg, were the absolute perfect compliments to this dish.  I was beyond satisfied.
Springer Mountain Farms Chicken:  Most of the guest got this dish which consisted of a deliciously cooked quarter chicken, roasted cauliflower, leeks, fingerling potatoes, rye bread and caper crumbles, and hollandaise sauce.  Just looking at this dish puts me in the mindset of fall/winter.  Delicious!
Catch of The Day:  This was a beautiful piece of trout accompanied by house-made chorizo, sapelo island clams, caramelized fennel, and shellfish broth.
Wild Georgia Shrimp and Grits:  These were some of the most succulent shrimp complete with charred broccoli, shallot confit, and a flavorful New Orleans BBQ sauce.
I was able to get a small taste of all of these dishes and every last one of them were superb!  After gift exchanges and lots of laughs and pictures, dessert came around!  Same as before, some of the ladies dug right in before my pics but I caught a couple!
I'm not quite sure what the dish above was but it looked delicious!  I had the Upside Down Fig Cake below that was served with five spice ice cream, and a peanut brittle.  In all honesty it was to "spicy"  for my liking.  Not spicy as in hot but spicy as in too many flavors.  It was a beautiful to look at though.

I've had food from Black Sheep before but had never been on the rooftop.  It was a perfect evening of dining and holiday fun with some amazing people.  My birthday is in the spring and I think a birthday brunch on the rooftop would be ideal!  The food is out of this world and if and when you get a chance to visit Black Sheep, try some of the items I mentioned.  I highly recommend the Korean Beef Short Ribs!  Phenomenal would be an understatement!
As always thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!
