A Romper and Statement Earrings

Hi Dolls,

One thing for certain, two things for sure, if you live in Florida, you probably have an affinity for being around bodies of water. At least this is what I've been told by native Floridians.  I'm a Texas girl at heart so I'll admit, I don't really favor swimming in large bodies of water, unless I'm snorkeling, of course.  However, I absolutely LOVE looking at it and having accessibility to it when ever the urge to go swimming in the ocean strikes (which is far and few in between)!  Plus having a pretty view of water from my home was a major selling point for me!  There's nothing more pleasant than looking at water glisten when the sun hits it just right!  It also makes one heck of a backdrop for super cute outfits like this off-the-shoulder Tobi romper!  It's perfect for spring, spending time on a boat, or hanging out on a dock like I was this day!

I avoided wearing a necklace because it is an off the shoulder look and I didn't want to take away from that so I decided to pair the romper with my favorite statement earrings instead!
This romper is so cute I didn't want anything overpowering it so I think the earrings added the right amount of interest, pulling the entire look together without over doing it!
To keep the entire look light and airy, I paired the  outfit with my favorite nude heels.
  So quick story...
Across the way were a few people working on what seemed to be a backyard project.   So naturally, I lifted up my shades to get a better look....not because I'm nosey or anything.
My nosiness got the best of me and my staring became quite obvious so they did the neighborly thing and waved!  I waved, shot them a smile, and prayed I wouldn't fall into the St. Johns River while trying to be cute!
As long as I held on to the rail, I was good! HAHA!

The "Good" Life

Hi Dolls,

I can't think of anything else that screams "SPRING" more than bright colors and floral prints!  On top of that, I am loving the embroidery trend this season!  This explains why I immediately fell in love with the Emily Embroidered Maxi Dress by Tobi as soon as I saw it!  It's flowy, it's feminine, and it's absolutely perfect for the new season. Isn't it amazing how embroidery adds so much interest to what would've otherwise been pretty blase?!?  Gotta love fashion!
I also love the sheer bottom of the dress that's giving you all a little peek-a-boo at these thighs once again!  In my eyes, this dress was a win-win from the start!
As I write this post, I'm thinking back to what was going through my mind during this photo shoot.  Being surrounded by that beautiful architecture and being in the midst of that absolutely gorgeous Florida day, I was reflecting on how good life is!
It's so easy to focus on the things we don't have, goals not yet accomplished, weight that won't seem to fall off, that we often forget about all the great talents we hold, the wonderful experiences we're privy to, and the beautiful things that surround us day in and day out.
I remembered promising myself, back in January, that this year I would focus on being more positive and expressing more gratitude!
Everyday I am striving to put more energy into that very thing.  I read somewhere once that "what you tell yourself everyday will either lift you up or tear you down."  The world does a good enough job with the "monkey wrench."
Trust me I know it's a lot easier to gripe about the things we're not pleased with but what good does that really do in the long run?  It just stresses you out and keeps you in a funk.  Instead of being our own worst critic, let's be our own biggest cheerleader!
You were given special gifts and talents to share with the world and you're the only you that will ever be!  You're a big freaking deal!

Jollibee Grand Opening!

Hi Dolls,

Jollibee, the largest Asian fast casual restaurant company, recently made its way here, to Jacksonville (and Southeast U.S. for that matter) and last Friday I was privy to some of their tasty treats before they opened their doors to the public last Saturday!  Yay me because when I passed by on Saturday afternoon, the line was wrapped around the corner!

Something interesting I learned, that I never knew about Jacksonville, is that it is the home to the largest Filipino American community in Florida.  With that being said, a lot of people were very excited about the opening of Jollibee as it has apparently been a long-awaited arrival and talk of town since last year.  Though new to me, Jollibee has a ton of fans as I discovered from this soft media opening and by the comments I received from my Jollibee Snapchat story!
I can certainly understand why it is so beloved...the food is delicious!  One of the signature menu items (and my favorite) is the  "world famous" Chickenjoy.  It's such a hit, they rolled out a lifesize bucket of it! LOL!  I don't think I've ever seen that much fried chicken, in one place, at the same time, ever in life!
The ChickenJoy is delicately breaded to be "crispylicious" on the outside and "juicylicious" inside.  I couldn't have described it better.  It was just that and had great flavor!
Another signature Jollibee dish is the Jolly Spaghetti.  Now you may be thinking, wait a second, fried chicken and spaghetti? I thought the same thing but people LOVE IT!  They use a special sweet-style sauce, loaded with chunky slices of ham, ground meat, and hotdogs.  This is a traditional Filipino dish.  You learn something new everyday!
I'm not a huge spaghetti girl so this wasn't the dish for me but I can imagine lots of kids and "kids at heart" would fancy it very much!  The chicken alone, however, will have me back for more!  As you can see, there's a side of rice and gravy on my plate.  It was an unexpected compliment to the chicken!
So about this life size bucket of chicken...you know I had to get a photo-op because I don't know when I'll ever see that much fried chicken at one time, again!
The Peach Mango Pie is made with real Phillippine sweet mangoes and a flaky brown crust.  I was told I absolutely had to try it.  So I did but I have to say, I have a strong affinity for apple hand pies so this wasn't quite for me.  However, it is better than any fast food hand pie, I've ever had.  It was good, it was sweet, and if you love mangoes, you'll absolutely love this pie!

Overall, I liked it!  Not only was the food good but the service was wonderful!  The employees were very nice and accommodating and it seems like a really happy place to be...I guess that's why it's called "Jolli"bee!  I look forward to returning for more Chicken Joy and to try some of their other menu items like the Aloha Yum Burger which I hear is delicious and the Buko Pandan, their boba drink.  If this is what Filipino fast-food tastes like, I'm a fan!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Gingham and Sheer Panel Skirt

Hi Dolls,

With spring officially a week away, I am excited for warm weather, colorful clothing, and everything fun that comes along with spring like my birthday for example!   It's crazy how there are blizzards and storms a-brewing during this time of year but what can you do but dress the part.  This particular day, the weather was warm and the sun was shining brightly!  It definitely felt like spring was in the air so I pulled out my favorite sheer panel skirt and paired it with this gingham print blouse and orange heels and necklace for a pop of color!
It was a super simple look to throw together!  You can never go wrong with neutrals like black and white and a little bit of color never hurt nobody!
As for this skirt, I'm still as in love with it as I was the first time I saw it!  I love the A-line shape and knee length and that the sheer panels show a little thigh, giving the illusion of being a little shorter.
Did you happen to catch the pretty pink flowers in the background!  They compliment the picture so well!
