Barbara Jean’s (Fernandina Beach)

Hi Dolls,

Last weekend my sweetie called and told me he’d be over to take me to dinner! I don’t know about you but I jump at a chance for dinig out!

We went to a place in Fernandina called Barbara Jean’s.  A restaurant specializing in “Easy Southern Dining”.

The weather here in Florida is still relatively warm so we asked to sit outside.  The scenery was nice.  We could see the water from our seat.  The mosquitos did start to bite though!

The menu was full of good ole’ fashion southern dishes!

I was pleasantly surprised with the complimentary pumpkin bread and cinnamon butter. I think I may have asked for a few more baskets full throughout our meal! 🙂

For an appetizer we both ordered the crab soup.  It was sooooo full of crabmeat!!!  While it was tasty, the texture was a little too thick for me.

We both ordered the shrimp and grits as well.  I had dirty rice and green beans as sides.  Sorry the picture came out blurry.  I would’ve taken another one but I was too ready to dig in at that point. LOL!

Here is another attempt at the shrimp and grits before it was devoured!!!

Overall, this place gets a B-.  The food was good, but I will probably try a new spot the next time I’m in Fernandina.

Have a great week dolls!

Love the trousers. I have similar ones from GAP but they aren't long enough to wear with heels (sadface). From the pictures you graded the restaurant accordingly. This was a first that I wasn't ready to relocate to shadow you in your dining experiences. Food looks typical.
