Hello Lovelies,
The weather is getting cooler and cooler here in San Antone and I’m loving it! It’s always a nice change from the heat in Sunny Florida! A good friend and I decided to meet for lunch and here is what I was wearing:
I love layering my clothes in the winter!!!! Don’t you?
I think my wardrobe is probably much cuter in the winter time too!
Which season is your favorite to dress for?
Being the foodie that I am, naturally the Food Network is one of my favorite channels to watch. One of the shows I love to watch is Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (Triple “D”)with Guy Fieri! One of the restaurants he showcased was Taco Taco Cafe here in San Antonio!
When my friend and I arrived, I was excited to see that they have been voted the “Best Tacos in America”. With this type of advertising, I was sure to enjoy my lunch….
More raving reviews!!!
Not to mention the long line we had to wait in….MUST BE GOOD RIGHT?
Oh here is the little lady that was on “Triple D” with Guy
Ok so on to the food…….
We were given complimentary chips and salsa…..or something like it. The salsa came with a spoon because it was runny like a soup. I don’t know about you but I like my salsa thick enough to stick to the chip on its own. <side-eye #1>
This place is known for having “the best tacos in America” especially their puffy tacos, so I ordered the puffy beef taco. Now the waitress asked if I wanted it made with flour or corn tortillas and I said flour, but I got corn which made the taco taste like a tamale……I don’t like tamales…..at all. <side-eye #2> Needless to say, I wasn’t impressed at all! At least they looked good. The spanish rice on the side was somewhat tasty. I didn’t even touch the refried beans.
My friend Nika ordered good ole fashion crispy tacos and traded me one for a puffy taco. These were much better, but ummmmmm….I definitely wouldn’t say the best I ever eaten. The tacos I make at home have more flavor.
Well at the end of the day, I still had a great time catching up with my hometown bestie. As for Taco Taco Cafe, I would have to give them a grade of a C-. Maybe they were having an off-day. Anywho, I’m off to Vegas everyone so stay tuned and I will talk to you all very soon.

My favorite season to dress for is Spring/Summer…I admit I was on a Mission to revamp my Fall/Winter Wardrobe, but I love all the floral prints, dresses, and open toed shoes that come with the warmer months…Have Fun in Vegas!
Mine is Spring/Summer I'm JUST learning how to dress for the little bit of winter we have in MS….LOVE this outfit!www.style4curves.blogspot.com
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! Our course, I'm loving the animal print.
Fall and spring are my favorite seasons to dress for.You look great in your layers!!
I've never been to this restaurant, but that really stinks that they didn't live up to the hype. I hate when that happens! But I too always give them the benefit of the doubt thinking that maybe they were just having a bad day. That salsa on the other hand is inexcusable! LOL Thick salsa is the ONLY way to go.As far as my favorite season, that would have to be fall, but the season I feel the cutest dressing up in is late spring, early summer. ๐ I enjoy layering in the cooler months, but I feel like my clothes are the cutest in the warmer months. I love little frilly dresses and bright colors. Although I do still manage to incorporate a lot of life-y colors into my winter outfits, because too much dark grays and blacks would drive me bananas! Have fun in my old stomping grounds (Vegas)!!
Cute look! That scarf and jacket look awesome together! I love Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives too! I have gotten some really great recipes from that show ๐
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Girl, I am cracking up at this review. I can only imagine your face when you tasted this so called #1 Taco. Sucks when stuff like that is a let down. And I LOVE your scarf, I didn't see that in my Ross ๐ Have fun in Vegas…I sure did! 7eventh Letterhttp://www.whatsmoreimportantthanfashion.com

This look is so cute the scarf just brings everything together so chicly. I live in FL and I LOVE dressing for warm days. Don't get me wrong I love my boots and layering every once in a while too though. You have my mouth watering with all that food!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SWEET COMMENT! YOU LOOK AMAZING!! I LOVE THAT SCARF & YOUR BOOTS ARE TOO CUTE!!FOOD LOOKS YUMMYLICIOUShttp://www.estilomode.com/
Loved your look! You look so cute in winter clothes. It really stinks that the tacos weren't good. I have went to several places that were on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and have been impressed. Maybe it was an off day? Enjoy your trip to Vegas!
laughing at all of the side eyes but wondering why you didn't give one to the cook – she looked a lil beat!!! lolloved the scarf – hoping to find it when I visit Ross this weekend :)www.rosefromrosedale.com

I live in Miami but I am orginally from Brooklyn, I think since I have lived in Miami for the past 7 years I have lost all ability to dress for winter, lol. But you look cute, the boots and scarf are my faves. I hate when a restaurant has all these great reviews and gets alot of hype hype on a tv show and it doesn't impress when you actually eat there.Have fun in Vegas!
I hate when I go somewhere expecting something spectacular and end up disappointed!!! UGH. I felt that way about Gladys Knight's restaurant in Atlanta.. it was ok, but I was underwhelmed.
That SUCKS about the FOOD but atleast you were able to hang out with a friend and look cute doing it! ^_^
Love your outfit those boots are stunning!!! Now following! xoxowww.amy-beths.com
I have the same scarf. I love it.
Well, the plates did look good. I guess they can't all be winners (but I expect the best from Triple D). I love that scarf.*Erin
hi pretty ladie!!!! im so glad u found my new blog … and i luv this look on u, now following again heheheh
I've lived in San Antonio for the past 6 years and Taco Taco is my go-to place for breakfast tacos. These breakfast tacos are why the line is out the door almost every day. People got there for lunch, but breakfast is where it's at. The tortillas are homemade and delicious and all of their breakfast tacos are great. I prefer to keep it simple with bacon and egg, but the super taco is awesome.
Love the chicness!! Yum @ the food, you never disappoint!!Mallyxox
Yes, a nice outfit overall, esp. the boots; the print scarf & leather jacket are trรจs chic aussi, but I'm really more interesting in the food. You didn't catch Taco Taco on a bad day: they've been mediocre every time I've been, which has been often enough that I've stopped trying it, despite all the unjustified raves from national media. There are at least a dozen better Tex Mex kitchens within a mile and a half of that restaurant.
Love the scarf and outfit!I feel SO much better after reading this. While driving thru Mississippi, we ate at the Blow Fly which Giy featured on DDD….we left food on the table along with the to-go boxes (which we never do)! #Fail
