MoonBeam Bash!!!!

Hey Dolls!!!

What better way to kick off summer than an AWESOME party on the rooftop of a museum!?!?  That’s exactly how I got my summer started last Thursday at the Jacksonville Yelp Moonbeam Bash!

I recently joined Yelp and every month they host an event in support of local vendors.  This was the event for June and boy was it a hit!  It was held at the MOSH museum (Museum of Science and History) and it was the perfect location. It was a wonderful evening of great food, great entertainment, great company, and this beautiful view of downtown Jacksonville!

Before I get into the food, here is what I decided to wear! I figured I’d go for something sparkly since I was going to a “MoonBeam” event on a rooftop!  It just felt like the right thing to do lol!

Blazer and Blouse:  H&M

Pants: GoJane.com

Necklace: Charming Charlie

Watch:  Michael Kors

Heels:  Vera Wang

I received so many compliments on my pants!  They were definitely a hit!

Now on to all of the good eats!    There were several local vendors around every corner of the museum, ready to offer you a sampling of their cuisine, drinks, and desserts.  In no particular order here is some of what I enjoyed:

Pretzel Chips

The Garlic Parmesan were my favorite flavor!!!

The Flying Iguana Taqueria and Tequila:

Soooo… this taco right here, the Anticucho Steak taco, was… THE BOMB… DIGGIDY!!!  Savory steak, verde sauce, and spicy red fresno chili, was like a party in my mouth!!! It was my favorite of the night!

 Tres Leches Eatery

Chick pea gumbo……mmmmmm wasn’t my fav but I can appreciate the creativity.

“For The Love Of Cake”

These mini cupcakes were super cute and delicious!

 Fusion Food Truck

They had small bites of their infamous chicken tikka masala.  Check out this post for more about them.

Dim Sum Room

They had Shumai, Chinese pork dumpling.  It reminded me of the wonton in wonton soup.

 What’s The Catch

They had some delicious Shrimp Creole and Ahi Tuna tacos!!!

 Your Pie

They had an amazing Buffalo Bacon Club Sandwich!  You can’t really go wrong if bacon is a factor.

 Aster’s French Macarons

They had some really cool flavors for sampling and I have a habit of going for the most unique flavor when given the option ….

Can you guess which one I tried…..

Yep, that’s right!  I got the Fruit Loop Macaron!!!

It tasted just like a milky bowl of Fruit Loops!!!

On the roof we more tasty surprises, including my second favorite treat of the night from one of my new favorite restaurants, HAWKERS!!!

Hawkers Asian Street Fare

This was the Steak Banh Mi Slider and it was pretty amazing!!!

Volstead

You can’t end an evening like this with out a night cap and the Volstead kept the spirited beverages coming!  They were so refreshingly delicious!

“The Jam” was a delicious concoction of Bourbon, basil, lemon, and blueberry jam!!!  I know right!!!

There were a few other vendors like Corner Taco, Vagabonds, European Street Cafe, and the awesome massage therapist I didn’t get a chance to try but from what I heard they were pretty amazing too!  With that being said, this event was one that I will not soon forget!  It was a great time with great people, food, and entertainment.  If you have a Yelp for your city, get into it, you’ll enjoy it!

I’ll be back soon!!!

XOXO
