Hey Lovelies,
Last night I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful Yelp event at Mezza Restaurant & Bar in Neptune Beach. It is always a task to find good parking at the beach but for this event, Valet parking was complimentary which was a wonderful gesture!
Upon our arrival, we were greeted with smiles, taken to our private room on the covered patio of the restaurant, and given a cute little Yelp man clock and a glass of Prosecco to sip on while we mingled before the event started
Everything was decorated for fall! I loved the leaf candles and mini pumpkins!
As you can see, I’m always ready for a great event that features food!!! Even better if wine’s involved.
This event focused on fine fall pairing so Chef Brian and wine connoisseur, Amber gave us an expository on the 5 course meal we’d be partaking in as well as the wines paired with each course.
Course 1: we had a chilled Vichyssoise & Butternut Squash Layered Soup. It was garnished with delicious candied pecans.
The wine pairing for this course was Boisset No21 Brut Cremant de Bourgogne.
Course 2: Beet Tartare with Goat Cheese Mousse, poached egg. I really enjoyed the Beet Tartare but I’m not very fond of poached egg so I ate around it.
This course was paired nicely with Vincent Delaporte Sancerre, Louire, FR.
Course 3 was probably my favorite! It was Proscuitto & Smoked Duck Salad. The smoky flavor of this dish was perfect with the sweet peaches and raspberry balsamic.
The salad was also paired nicely with Chateau Guiot Rose, Rhone Valley.
Course 4 was my second favorite, Peekytoe Crab Crepes. It was full of creamy crab and marscapone cheese and placed on top of a delicious smoked tomato butter with balsamic pearls, and garnished with pea shoots.
It was paired with Ponzi Tavola, an Oregon Pinot Noir.
In celebration of fall, Course 5 was a Pumpkin Cake and Spiced Orange Reduction. On top of the cake was a delicious praline crumble. This cake was incredibly moist and a perfect dessert for the occasion.
At this point, I’d reached my limit of spirited beverages but the pumpkin cake was paired with a very strong, 10 year old Tawny Port, Warre’s Otima.
The evening was exquisite! The meals were decadent, the setting was classy, and the most importantly, everyone who attended had a great time. I always have fun at Yelp events! It’s great being around people with similar interests!
As always thanks for stopping by!
I’ll be back soon.
XOXO
I can tell it was a beautiful event from just looking at the photos. You looked lovely with your curly hair too.
This looks like such a fun event. Who am I kidding, it's always fun when food is involved!
