A Dress as a Skirt!

Hey Dolls,

I love it when I can re-purpose  an outfit in a completely different way! No need to run out and buy stuff every weekend (…seriously, who am I kidding?) when you can shop your closet!!!  This is the dress I wore for my television debut, See Here, and I was staring at it in the closet thinking to myself, “Man that dress would make such a cute skirt!”  and from that thought, my outfit was born!

I wanted the top of the dress to peek through a little so I added a semi-sheer lace tee over the dress and hid the bottom with a wide belt.  The compliments I received were either “I love your dress” or “Cute skirt” so mission accomplished!

When ever I’m in a skirt, I can’t help the urge to swing it!

I love how the sheer top added a little peek-a-boo effect!

The colors of this dress were what sold me!  The subtle stripes helped  too!  For some reason, the chartreuse color never shows up on camera.  There were chartreuse colored flowers in the dress so I paired this look with my chartreuse pumps to bring out the flowers.  They just look yellow in these pics but they’re so much more than yellow in real life!

So what do you guys think?  Did I make the dress work as a skirt?  Are you guilty of doing this too?  I’m going to start doing this more often.

How did I miss the blog makeover?! It's really really lovely. I'm a fan of JS's shoes but I've never purchased a clothing item. The dress is seriously girly and the print flirty. The shoes add a nice pop of color. You'll have to teach me how to layer because I haven't been able to master this fashion do. Happy Friday!

Trice, what a vibrant look! I like the dress as a skirt idea, it is a very versatile look. I think it was brilliant of you to wear shoes that make the chartreuse pop in the skirt but also draw a fun element to your outfit.xx
