Earlier this week I attended an amazing NomNomJax dinner event at the beautiful 619 Ocean View Restaurant in Ponte Vedra. First and foremost do you see this picturesque view of the ocean below…well this is what we had the pleasure of beholding the entire evening while we dined!
Not only was the view breathtaking, the food was pretty darn good as well! For starters we had several appetizers including this delicious Argentinia cheese pastry made with tapioca sugar.
This Preserved Lemon Hummus was probably some of the best hummus I’ve ever eaten!
This was the Barrel Batched Cocktail for the evening! It was made with Blueberry, Thyme, and St. Augustine Distillery Vodka. It was very light and fresh!
Amuse: Crab and Purple Potato Causa
Made with crab, avocado, and aji amarillo.
1st Course: Sweet and Sour Smoked Sausage
Made with pickled watermelon and datil peach jam.
2nd Course: Sunny Bibb Salad
Made with sunflower seeds, goat cheese, and Orange Florida citrus vinaigrette.
3rd Course: Smoked St. Louis Style Ribs
Made with vinegar, savoy cabbage, corn, hominy, and peppers.
4th Course: Seafood Paella
Made with scallops, shrimp, mussels, clams, chicken, smoked sausage, heirloom vegetables, and saffron.
5th course: “Snickers in a Cup”
Made with caramel, pink sea salt, dark chocolate, cream, and vanilla.
This dessert was everything you probably imagine it to be! DELICIOUS and a perfect ending to a perfect evening! If you haven’t had the chance to attend a NomNomJax event, you are totally missing out on some of the most amazing dinner events at some of Jacksonville’s best restaurants! Take this hidden gem for example. Myself and several others had never even heard of 619 Ocean View before this event and I can hardly wait to go back!
