Bruxie/ Home of the Original Waffle Sandwich

Hi Dolls,

Have I ever told you how much I love the chicken and waffle combination?  I mean…who ever decided, one day, that it was a good idea to put the two together is a genius in my eyes!  It totally works!  Which is why I literally ran into Bruxie, while perusing the streets of Vegas a few weeks ago!  When I saw the sign, I was like “Uhhhh…YEAH, THAT’S DINNER!!!!”

(if you follow me on “The Snap”, you know exactly what I’m talking about LOL!)

Bruxie is located on the corner of the New York, New York Hotel and Casino.  When we walked out of the casino to head back towards our hotel, next door, Bruxie was hard to miss!  When we walked in, I thought it was very hip! Some of the best hits out, were playing over the speakers, and it was decorated super cute with waffle irons all over the walls and high bar stools to sit in!

So what is a “Bruxie”  you ask?  Wellllll, it is a new take on a sandwich where authentic, Belgian waffles are used as the bread! The waffles are so light and fluffy!  Surprisingly, they are not super sweet, which is nice.   Inside of these waffles you can get your choice of  quality ingredients from savory to sweet.  Some of them include buttermilk fried chicken, proscuitto and Gruyere, nutella and bananas, and seasonal creme brulee with strawberries and these are just a few choices.  Needless to say, Bruxie would be perfect for a meal any time of day.

Since this was my first visit, I went with the recommended favorites!  This first dish is the Original Fried Chicken and Waffle Sandwich.  It came with a deliciously seasoned fried chicken breast, chili-honey, and cider slaw.

This is the Original Fried Chicken and Waffle Skillet.  It is just like the sandwich but deconstructed, without the slaw. This dish normally comes with a cheddar-bacon waffle but I opted for a regular waffle.  It was amazing!  The seasoning was on point and it was nicely balanced with the sweetness of the maple syrup.  This dish can also come Nashville Style Hot.  My mom got that kind and the chicken had a delightful smoky heat flavor.

I was very happy with my visit to Bruxie!  I wish there was one in my neck of the woods.  They are only a few locations on the west coast.  If you’re near Cali or Vegas, it would be worth a visit!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
XOXO

Never had slaw with chicken and waffles, it sounds like an interesting concept though. I'll have to seek it out.

Was in Vegas 2 weeks ago signed up for Bruxie emails and they keep sending me coupons. This was the best chix and waffles i have ever had even the slaw was good. I was dubious about the slaw but it works! Wish there was one one the east coast!
