Biggie, Biggie, gimme one more….slice!
That’s exactly what I was thinking once I finished my lunch at Biggie’s Pizza last week. I have been wanting to get to the beach to try out Biggie’s for a while now so I took total advantage of the opportunity when I was in the area recently!
This is definitely the hippest new pizza joint in town and is a family ran business consisting of a cousin and a couple of brothers who grew up in Queens, New York. It’s no secret that they are bringing the authenticity when it comes to great tasting New York style pizza.
The location is very quaint but I think that just adds to the local charm. I absolutely LOVE the decor, especially the Biggie mural, all of the Biggie quotes, vinyl records, and choice of music playing in the background. I told one of the owners that I was expecting to hear Biggie playing and he told me I had to come back at night. I will certainly be taking him up on that because this place was awesome!
On my way there, I already knew I wanted pizza. They also have sandwiches, garlic, knots, and desserts that I will make a point to try at some point but for today, pizza was what I wanted! They had so many pizza options but I went with what I know, the deluxe…Brooklyn Deluxe to be exact!
Oh, and because it was 5 o’clock somewhere, I got a nice glass of Riesling to wash down my slice. I’d like to mention that they gave me my kind of pour, about 3/4 of a glass. I appreciate them even more for not being skimpy with the wine!
This picture doesn’t do this slice of pizza any justice. In true NY style, the slice was quite large, full of toppings, and full of flavor! Call me girly if you must but I really wanted to use a fork and knife to eat my slice. The slice was so big, full of toppings, and a tad on the greasy side, so it was a little tough to hold with out anything falling off. I managed and it was delicious from first bite to crust.
If you’re ever in the area (or not), do yourself a favor and go to Biggie’s. I can see them easily becoming my go to for good pizza! Thanks for stopping by!
XOXO
Looks so good! But girl, that mention of you wanting to eat it with a knife and fork. Hahaha! Reminded me of when I moved away for college and one of my girlfriends did that and I looked at her all crazy and asked her what the heck she was doing! Being from the Bronx I had never seen anyone eat pizza with a knife and fork, lol.
LOL!!! I know, I know! I usually hold pizza and just eat it but this bad boy was huge!
How cool is this place. Your blog always reminds me of why I love Jacksonville and why I would like to live there!
What cool theme & business idea. Glad to hear the food is good.
