Hi Dolls,
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Mother’s Day is a couple of days away! If you’re stuck on where to take mom for a well deserved meal, I’ve got you covered! Mimi’s Cafe, well known for offering French-inspired American comfort food, is showing mom and her family twice the love this Mother’s Day by rolling out a special 3-course Mother’s Day Menu! I was extended the opportunity to try some of the menu items a little early so I took my bestie, Krystle with me and I’m excited to share what we had!
Mimi’s will open at 7am with their delicious breakfast menu and beginning at 11 a.m. they will offer the 3 course Mother’s Day menu for $18.99. I really enjoy prix fixe menus because they give you more than one option for each course!
Check out the menu options below!
What’s brunch without mimosas!?!? Well…I never want to find out! Mimosas will be on deck in several flavors you can indulge in including original (Mimi-Mosa), peach, mango, and triple berry. They come in nice size flutes so you can enjoy for several sips!
For the first course we both went with the Caesar salad. It was yummy with just the right amount of dressing. I believe the croutons were made in house.
For the main course I chose the Shrimp Brochette Skewers. They were served with a salad and cheesy gratin potatoes. I substituted the salad for sauteed spinach. The shrimp were very well seasoned but my favorite from this dish was the potatoes. They had great flavor.
The star dish of the afternoon was Krystle’s entree, the Chicken Tillamook Cheddar Mac! It was made with penne pasta, pulled chicken, bacon, a mild cheddar sauce, and topped off with a delicious Parmesan crust! I spent most of the meal mooching off of her plate because it was delicious. As a matter of fact, I’m thinking of reinventing something like this at home! Hmmmmm!
We shared the Chicken Chopped Salad which had delicious Asian inspired flavors! If nothing else it was a gorgeous salad! I loved the crunch from the fried wontons!
Of course no meal is complete without dessert and because we had such a tough time deciding what we wanted, we were brought out several different options to sample!
Krystle loves Creme Brulee so choosing the creme brulee cheesecake was easy for her. It was a rather large and dense slice of cake, but it was good, especially with the strawberry sauce.
I had the tiramisu and it was just okay in my opinion. It wasn’t bad but I wasn’t overly impressed with it so I resorted once again to pinching off of my friend’s dessert!
As an added bonus we were brought out the banana muffin ice cream sundae and boy was that a treat! If you like banana splits, this would definitely be the dessert for you!
Overall, we really enjoyed our meal at Mimi’s! I’m pretty sure most mother’s and their families would as well! Plus Mimi’s will be giving each mother a special gift and a free entree upon return visit through May 28 with the purchase of a second entree and two beverages! If you’re in need of a place to treat mom this Sunday, Mimi’s would be ideal! As always thanks so much for stopping by and to all the mother’s reading this post, Happy Mother’s Day!!!
XOXO
