Hi Dolls,
How do you feel about fashion rules? “Don’t wear white after Labor Day.” “Don’t mix prints.” “No sequins in the daytime.” The list goes on and on. I mean who made up these so called “Fashion Rules” anyways? Some say rules are meant to be broken and in this case, I certainly agree. Fashion and your personal style should make you look and feel good and it definitely shouldn’t be restrictive!
I decided a long time ago that I would wear whatever I suited my fancy. Now, don’t get me wrong, you probably won’t catch me in a tank top and flip flops in the winter or a mink coat in the summer but in the same breath, I’m not opposed to rocking a nice pair of shorts with pantyhose and closed toe pumps in the fall!
As a fashion-lover, I admire those who take fashion risk! The more unique, the better! As a matter of fact, since becoming a blogger, I’ve taken fashion risks of my own. Nothing too drastic, but I rock things I probably never would have, 10 years ago.
Crop tops are one of those things!
I’ve never really been all that comfortable with baring my mid-drift and that may very well be due to the antiquated “fashion rule” that they are only to be worn by those with completely flat tummies.
Now, I have full confidence to not only rock mixed prints but a long sleeved crop top right in the mist of spring!
In the words of Sheree from RHOA, “Who gon’ check me boo?”
But in all seriousness, you can break fashion rules and still look fabulous if you do it correctly and with tact!
I made sure to wear high-waist palazzo pants to hide my beloved kangaroo pooch and high heels to help them fall nicely.
Top: Forever 21(old) (similar)
Pants: Zara (old) (similar)
Heels: GX by Gwen Stefani (old) (similar)
What are you least favorite “Fashion Rules”? I plan on breaking a few more in the near future (wink-wink)! As always, thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fabulous weekend!
XOXO
Heyy nice crop tops you got but i feel instead of horizontal you should have try vertical as you will look more slimmer
Well lucky for me I'm not trying to "look slimmer".
Nice post. I love this dress. Really amazing outfit and you look so gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. Even I am looking to buy gowns online for the parties.
