Tijuana Flats is Flat Outrageous

Hi Dolls,

Last week I was invited to Tijuana Flats to try out the new “Flat Outrageous” dishes that have been added to their menu right in time for summer!  The five new items are now available and are packed with flavor! My favorite thing to order whenever I go to Tijuana Flats is their flautas! They are lightly fried tortillas that are crunchy yet chewy and usually stuffed with something delicious so I was most excited to try the new Philly Cheesesteak Flautas which were easily my favorite dish that evening!

These flautas were made with shaved sirloin steak, mozzarella cheese, grilled onions, and pepper, served with queso. It was a nice take on the beloved sandwich and since I love flautas and I love Philly Cheesesteaks, this was a perfect remix!

Street-style Tacos are also new on the Flat Outrageous menu. For those of you who like a little kick, you’ll enjoy the Jerk Chicken street taco. It’s made with crispy jerk chicken, “MoreFire!” hot sauce, shaved cilantro cabbage, pineapple salsa, and cotija cheese. I really enjoyed the crispiness of the chicken. I like things a little spicy and the heat that the MoreFire sauce added was spot on!

The Crispy Baja Fish taco was made with crispy cod, chipotle crema, shaved cilantro cabbage, and pineapple salsa. This was my least favorite, mostly because the toppings really took over the taco. There were small bites of fish hidden under the massive amount of cabbage and salsa. The fish did have a nice flavor though, I just wish there was more of it!

My favorite street taco was the Lime steak. It was made with grilled garlic-lime steak, avocado crema, shaved cilantro cabbage, pico de gallo, and cojita cheese. The steak was very tender and seasoned well!

Last but not least were the Bangin’ Chicken Tostadas. They were made with crispy corn tortillas with “Smack My Ass Bangin’ Chicken”, refried beans, cheddar-jack cheese, grilled onions & peppers, tomatoes, and ranch dressing. One thing I really love about Tijuana Flats is the names they come up with for their dishes and sauces! They crack me up!

I had a good time at the tasting. The new dishes were pretty tasty! Make sure to stop in at one of your nearest Tijuana Flats to try out the new Flat Outrageous items! I’m sure if they’re limited time only but they are definitely great dishes for the summer!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a great week!

XOXO
