Mimi’s Cafe New Menu Favorites

Hi Dolls,

Mimi’s Cafe, well known for offering French inspired American comfort food, has become one of my favorite places to dine over the years!  To be honest any place that offers warm baskets of carrot cake and baguettes as a compliment is grade A in my book!  All jokes aside, I love how Mimi’s changes their menu throughout the seasons and I recently had the opportunity to check out some items from their latest menu!

For starters, we ordered the Trio of Appetizers!  It features some all time favorites: warm spinach and artichoke dip with homemade chips, hand-breaded chicken tenders, and a new menu item, lightly fried zucchini.  I loved the zucchini fries!  They were very flavorful and had the perfect bite.  Even though they’re fried, I didn’t feel too guilty eating them since it is a veggie!

A new feature on Mimi’s menu is the mix and match option!  You can choose from a variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts!  Per the recommendation of our awesome waitress, Petra (hey girrlll), I chose the Turkey Royale sandwich that came on an amazing cranberry wheat bread, tomato basil soup, which had a delectably creamy texture, and the delicious bacon and bleu cheese salad.  This trio was perfect together.  I think this menu option will be a new lunch go-to for me!

The Hibachi plate is also a new menu item.

Of course, I immediately thought of a Japanese steakhouse when I saw Hibachi as a new feature, but in this instance it’s simply the method of grilling.  I choose the hibachi plate with salmon but you can get it with chicken or shrimp as well.  It was a very nice portion of salmon and it came with crunchy vegetables, a sweet honey teriyaki glaze, sprinkles of sesame seeds, and long grain rice.  I absolutely loved this dish.  It had nice Asian-inspired flavors, and I love when veggies still had that lovely crunch to them!

Last but not least was the chicken, shrimp, and Andouille sausage jambalaya.  This is definitely a French Basque inspired dish!  If you love cajun-style cuisine, you will LOVE this.  We got it with rice but you can also get it with penne pasta.  Super flavorful and just the right amount of heat!

Needless to say we were stuffed so we reluctantly passed on dessert but I am always pretty impressed with the menu choices at Mimi’s!  This new update did not disappoint!  A couple of new dishes that I would love to try are the Tuscan-Style Grilled Chicken served with garlic toast, mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, and artichokes.  I also noticed the Provencal Veggie pasta. I noticed the sea of some of my favorite veggies in it including roasted zucchini, squash, eggplant, mushrooms, artichokes, onions, and grape tomatoes!  Definitely a perfect dish for fall and a perfect dish for anyone trying to get in that daily dose of veggies.  Overall, we enjoyed every bit of our dinner.  Stop in to your local Mimi’s to give some of these new menu items a try!  You will not be disappointed!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

XOXO
