Protect Your Peace

Hi Dolls!

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Let’s talk about self-love and self-care for a second shall we?   I know a lot of individuals go through a roller coaster of emotions on this day for various reasons, especially if they don’t have a “Valentine”  but I’m here to tell you that there is nothing wrong with celebrating yourself today!  How many life-sized teddy bears and chocolate covered cherries does one person need anyways?  Don’t get me wrong I love a nice gift from the one I love, but if you don’t have a special someone in your life right now to give it to you, spend the day gifting yourself and have a blast doing so, unapologetically!!!

“Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, and soul.”

Speaking of self-care and being in love with yourself, I’ve decided that in this life, “If it costs me my peace, it’s too expensive and I can’t afford it.”

Sometimes life hands you a bushel of lemons and tells you to deal with it and while most of us do so with finesse, sometimes, you just need those mental health days and time set aside for self-care.  I’ve come to the realization that if you want to flourish in this life, you’ve got to free yourself from all the BS that costs you your peace of mind.

“Protect Your Peace at All Cost!”

“So Trice, how can I do that?” you ask.

Well, I’ll give you a couple of tips that I’ve incorporated into my own life that have been giving me a little more peace of mind lately.  Just a little something something to get you moving towards a more peaceful state of living!

1.)  Surround yourself with people who inspire you.

Spending time and energy among those who don’t inspire (or want) you to be great is a waste of time and will zap your energy and creativity.  Spend more time around individuals who are loyal, passionate, motivated, grateful, and forward-thinking.

“Good Vibes Only!”

2.)  Forgive others.  Not because they may necessarily deserve forgiveness but because you deserve peace.

There is healing and power in forgiving others who have wronged you and when you do, there is a release.  Trust me, I know that forgiveness can be very challenging to do sometimes, but it is necessary to live in a state of peace.

So really quick before I go, I have to give you the deets on my look!  Everything except the shoes, came from Forever 21.  I bought this sheer skirt months ago with the intentions of wearing it over a black jumper but I’m totally feeling it over the jeans.  The weather is still fickle so I rocked it with my leather moto jacket!  I put on these chartreuse Aldo pumps for a pop of color!

 What do you think?

It’s different and I love it!

As for your peace, what are some things you do to protect it?  Let me know in the comments below!  Have a wonderful day and remember to always love yourself first!

XOXO
