Hi Dolls,
Two of the most classically delicious things on Earth are pizza and coffee…that is not up for debate! So imagine my excitement when I learned about the opening of a new force to be reckoned with, Pierre’s Eatery and local favorite, Three Layers Coffee! That’s right folks! You can now enjoy scratch-made pizza and coffee under the same roof! I don’t know about you, but I have never heard of a pizzeria/coffee shop duo until now and I am pretty geeked about it!
I recently stopped by to check out the eatery and was all -around pleased from the moment I walked in. It was aesthetically appealing and the food and service were on point! You’re immediately greeted by the delicious coffee and dessert counter, the cool lounging area, and of course, the kitchen where all of the magic happens.
You can enjoy WiFi while dining in and the lounging area is ideal for small group gatherings.
If I were still in college, this would’ve been the perfect go-to spot for studying, equipped with ALL THE COFFEE and ALL THE PIZZA!
I learned that at this particular Pierre’s Eatery location, there’s a new concept called Petit Pierre’s where kids can partake in the making of their own pizza by molding the dough into whatever shape they desire. I particularly love that through the Petit Pierre’s program, they are cultivating respect and responsibility with the rules in place for the little chefs to adhere to before participating in the pizza creating. It takes a village folks…it takes a village!
Unbeknownst to me, there are a few other Pierre’s Eateries near by but this was my first visit so I wanted to make sure I tried some of their crowd favorites.
I got the sausage and pepperoni stromboli, spaghetti and meatballs, macaroni and cheese, and pasta salad. (No, I did not eat all of this in one setting for those who are wondering.)
One thing I found interesting is that they never use pork so the pepperoni, sausage, and meatballs were all beef. I also learned that all of the dough is made in house from scratch. You can really taste the freshness in all of their dishes.
For a sweet treat afterwards, I made my way back to the front of the eatery where the Three Layers Coffee and pastries were located. I got one of the most delicious iced caramel lattes I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting and the infamous “J-square”! Aligned with popular belief, this cake could definitely be renamed “Crack”!
It is quite addicting and oh so delicious. The buttery crust is made with crushed pecans and the inside is a maple-y, creamy, goodness. Similar to a blondie but wayyyyy better! It was heaven paired with my iced latte. Thank goodness they are not opened around the time I go to work because I would want this combination daily and that would not be good for my waistline! I will just have to occasionally treat myself once a month or so.
Overall, everything was delicious! I’m happy Three Layers is back on the Jax scene and partnered with Pierre’s Eatery! I look forward to this being a dynamic duo! I’m literally penciling in a day and time I can go back. You should definitely check them out! Pizza and Coffee…at the same dang time!?!? Brilliant!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!
XOXO
