Hey Dolls,
Need a mood boosting breakfast? Try Grumpy’s! Seems like an oxymoron, but I’m pretty sure it’s by design. I felt the polar opposite of grumpy after dining there! I’m sure we all could use a little mood boosting these days and what better way to get it than with good food?!? That is exactly what you’ll get at Grumpy’s Restaurant in Orange Park! I visited for the first time, recently, and everything from the service to the amazing breakfast I indulged in was fantastic! The following week at work I told about 3 or 4 people about my awesome experience so that is saying a lot. I’ve read a lot about Grumpy’s over the last few years, especially when it comes to their amazing waffles, and after my visit, it is no wonder they’ve won several awards and the reviews are consistently raving!

When we got to the restaurant, it was packed to the brim! Thank goodness we had reservations. When I see a full house it’s usually a good indication that the food and service is going to be great! Even though there was a line out the door, they moved pretty quickly to get everyone seated and served.
Since it was breakfast hours, we ordered coffee and orange juice for starters. The orange juice was freshly squeezed in-house and you could tell. It tasted super fresh and was quite refreshing! The perfect breakfast drink! The coffee was quite notable as well! So far so great!
Before we even got to Grumpy’s I knew, no matter what, I would be ordering one of their waffles! I have heard nothing but great things about the waffles at Grumpy’s so I had to try for myself and boy oh boy am I glad I did! I ordered the waffle special of the day “The Carrot Cake Waffle” and yes….yes that is an entire slice of carrot cake on top of the waffle! Talk about huge portion sizes! In addition to the cake topping the waffle, there were bits of carrot cake baked into the waffle as well. I didn’t know if I was eating breakfast or dessert but I was pleased to say the least! There was no need for syrup, it was perfect as is! Ok so I’ll admit, I took the cake off and saved it for a dessert later but wowza was this waffle amazing! I hear their red velvet waffles and cinnamon roll waffles are out of this world as well so those will be next up on my dining to-do list!

In addition to the waffle, we ordered the Grumpy’s Big Breakfast with French Toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, and hash browns. The portions are generous and everything was very flavorful! Needless to say, we were stuffed by the time we left. I almost forgot to mention that our server was extremely attentive. A bonus considering how busy they were that morning!

I am sold on Grumpy’s! They totally live up to the hype! I would go as far to say that of all the breakfast spots I’ve been to in town, they fall in the top three!

Grumpy’s is opened daily from 5:30am-2pm serving lunch in addition to their delicious breakfast. I can’t wait to give some of their other menu items a try! If you love good breakfast and diner-type vibes and are looking for a great local restaurant to support, I definitely recommend visiting Grumpy’s! The food and service are great you will not be disappointed!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
XOXO
